Guillaume Durand professional instructor-guide for fly fishing in the gorges of Verdon and Alpes Maritimes. The Riviera offers a great diversity of landscapes unique in Europe. On one side the sea, on the other high alpine mountain, one passes quickly from the "Great Blue" to the wildest gorges and torrents. It is on this land of contrasts, crowned with 300 days of sunshine a year, that I propose you to discover the art and ethics of fly fishing.

Guillaume is an outstanding guide and I throughly enjoyed my half day being guided by him! He speaks EXCELLENT English and was able to communicate Re all the subtle nuances of this spectacular fishery. Breathtaking scenery, beautiful waters and willing wild trout. Even if you are an accomplished fly fisher, I would definitely recommend that you hire Guillaume as he will shorten your learning curve on these waters massively.

Guillaume set us up for a great day in the Verdon Gorge outside Castellane fishing for native trout. He brings strong communication, patient guiding skills, and deep knowledge of the area and its fishery. He accommodated our different experience levels, kept us on fish, and took pictures for us, too.
It was easy to check in with him about the day and what we were hoping to get out of it. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spot along the Verdon Gorge, a nicer day on the river, or a kinder guide. Thank you, Guillaume.

I first met Guillaume Durand about 5 years ago when I decided that I would like to learn the skill of fly fishing and searched online for a teacher/guide.
Guillaume came highly recommended with the added bonus that he also spoke very good English, having spent many European winters in New Zealand permitting him to follow his passion throughout the year.
After my first session with Guillaume, despite me being perhaps not the fastest learner of the technique of casting, I could see that he had bags of patience, enthusiasm and was exceedingly knowledgeable in all aspects of his chosen field.
I loved the experience and was hooked (pun intended), especially because I caught 8 brown trout, and continued to have sessions with him whenever work and Covid restrictions permitted.
Fishing the wonderful River Verdon, Guillaume ensured a great day out where he not only instructed but also took care of all the bits that would have drastically slowed down progress if I had been alone like removing flies from the trees, sorting out birds’ nests in the line and frequently changing flies and rigs to achieve the best results.
Last summer my wife and a girlfriend of hers spent an afternoon with Guillaume as an introduction to fly fishing and came home stating that it was the most fantastic thing that they had done. Beautiful scenery, a lovely sunny day with a great, knowledgeable and enjoyable companion to have as a guide. Plus, they caught fish!

Did a day with Guillaume last June. I can highly recommend him, also for more experienced fly anglers. We had a blast on the river, and caught lots of wild browns, using both long line nymph techniques and dries. I learned quite a lot during this day, and Guillaume is a pleasure to spend the day with :) had a blast and will definitely book him again when I’m in the area!

Guillaume is absolutely first rate, a true professional !He knows every aspect of fly fishing. I learned more about fly fishing with him in one day than I have in years. Great experience not only to catch fish but also to learn and experience the art. I highly recommend Riviera Fly-Fishing and at the very minimum book the full day its a great experience . I will definitely be back to fish with Guillaume again!

Whether you are new to fly fishing, or brushing up on your casting and river craft, or just want to experience wild trout fishing in the stunning River Verdon area, I can highly recommend Guillaume Durand. His local and fly fishing knowledge and patience will move you swiftly along the fly fishing journey... all in such a beautiful setting!

Passion for nature, passion for fly fishing, passion for sharing knowledge. What you see is what you get with Guillaume, his natural optimism comes on top.

Guillaume Durand is not only a knowledgeable fly fishing guide for the Verdon river, but also a very friendly guy. He masters different fly fishing techniques, including Tenkara, and is capable of explaining those techniques patiently to his clients. And he knows where the trout hang out! I would recommend Guillaume to anyone who wants to go fly fishing in the Verdon.

Had a fantastic guiding day with Guillaume at the Verdon! Guillaume is a very knowledgeable guide and patient as well as friendly teacher.
I can highly recommend Guillaume as a guide for everyone who wants to progress and have a wonderful day!

Can’t recommend Guillaume enough. I had a full day guided fishing. Even though I was experienced in fly fishing I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I learned more in my technique and the local environment. Guillaume is the perfect host, excellent English and patience. Put me on the fish and read the river excellently. Another 10/10 from me

Hi, it is always best to fish catch-and-release. Many rivers in Europe cannot sustain a natural fish population because too many anglers still do not release the fish. Be kind for your fellow anglers and most of all for the fish :-)
