Lots of fun, even for the retired

I couldn't help suspecting that this was mostly for families... However four oldies managed it as well. I admit it is a bit of a struggle heading west up the hill but the... read more

My partner, dog and I arrived at Rando Rail on a Sunday morning. I was pleased that dogs were allowed but we didn't realize two people are required to cycle for the rail cart to move optimally. This left our dog in the unsecured hammock seat and not in one of our laps as would have been preferred. I wouldn't... More

Its not often you get this close to a railway track! - A thoroughly delightful afternoon spent meandering through the countryside east of St Omer. Gravity takes the strain out of the first 5km as the route gently descends towards Affringues. If you have a desire for speed and 'pedal like mad' a heady 15mph can be reached. A small... More

Brilliant fun cycling mini railway carriages through beautiful woodland. We were a group aged from teens to 70's and all thoroughly enjoyed this. Would recommend.

I'd seen a leaflet for Rando Rail, Lumbres a couple of years ago, but only managed to get there last week. Didn't know quite how it worked, but had a good idea. You pedal the rail "truck" up a gradient of 18% max (at the top), turn your truck on a turntable, and come rolling down....fast! 5km up, and of... More

My wife and me took our grandchildren, aged 12, 7 and 2 on this ride and they (and we) thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ride is basically a a large push bike on an old train track. There are two routes, the route we took travels uphill for around 5km, turn around at the top and freewheel the 5km downhill.... More

This attraction was on our list of things to consider whilst on a recent 4 day break in Pas-de-Calais but if you go by the headline, you certainly won't find this in St Omer; Nielles-les-Blequin is a tiny place in the sticks approx 10 miles west of St Omer. Travelling on the Rando Rail is done in hourly start-times between... More

I couldn't help suspecting that this was mostly for families... However four oldies managed it as well. I admit it is a bit of a struggle heading west up the hill but the countryside is pretty (if a bit obscured by trees) and the run back down the hill exhilerating. Luckily we were alone i.e. had no youthful competition pressing... More

The drive from le Touquet to Rando Rail is about 45 minutes the scenery is beautiful. For just 24 Euros a cart we had great fun at Rando Rail. You pedal a carriage type thing along the a 10km track downhill, passing a kennels that breeds irish wold hounds and schnowzers we saw a lovley fluffy litter The kids sit... More

We had an excellent afternoon's fun at Rando Rail. Nice countryside to view and my kids (5 and 3) had a great time. The kids sit in a hammock type seat inbetween the adults so are nice and safe even when you are up to 20-25 mph (Although Health & Safety would never allow it in the UK!) You also... More
