Lovely walk along the painters pathway, aim towards van gogh's house and you will find it, we initially didn't know where the painters pathway was, there is toilets at the house before you go on the walk, the walk is beautiful and mind blowing to think the Vincent had walked the same path, interesting to read about his life before going up to the cemetery, you can see why he is buried there and lived his final months there. Worth the visit- about a 45 min walk there and back spending about 5 mins in the cemetery.

This is a poignant end if you save this for after visiting the house of Vincent Van Gogh. The walk through the cornfields is truly awe-inspiring on route to the cemetery. The cemetery is quite small, but the grave is easily visible. The sunflowers are recognisable and taking time to reflect on his life is a moving experience. A simple visit, but an important part of history.

Have been there many times. My last visit was on July 29, the exact day of Vincent's death in 1890. So I know the place. I appreciate it. I experience very strong emotions there, knowing and feeling what it all means for Vincent's story. Nothing grandiloquent. Two simple stones with the name of the two brothers on them. But that tells it all. The simplicity, the peace, the tragedy, the union between Vincent and Theo. Some green (coming from Doctor Gachet's garden). And that it is. But to reall connoisseurs, that will be a lot and that will tell it all much more than words can ever say.

The last days of Vincent Van Gogh - two months and 9 days - were spent in this town. Some of his most beautiful paintings were completed here before he painfully ended his own life.
The tombstone is simple (translated) - 'Here Rests Vincent Van Gogh 1853 - 1890' Lying next to him his brother, Theodore.
Simple but powerful.

This is the final resting place of Vincent, and beside him is his beloved brother Theo. A very simple grave covered with thick foliage. There are many wildflowers growing around, please do take one or two and lay it on this grave. And say a prayer for Vincent and Theo.

After spending time at Vincent Van Gogh's gravesite, and seeing the church, we ended at the museum to view the room where Vincent expired. Our tour guide was very energetic and empathetic to Vincent's time spent in AUVERS. She spoke in French first but when requested switched back and forth to English. The slide presentation after visiting the room was very informative. We loved the tranquility of the tiny museum....
