- LondonholidayaddictLondon, United Kingdom148 contributionsVery pleasantly surprisedWe weren’t sure about Astir beach after reading some of the poor reviews but were pleasantly surprised. It was a weekday in October so not that busy and the prices were not that much more expensive then some other beach clubs we looked at on the coast which were nowhere near as nice. Beautiful crystal clear clean shallow water perfect to swim, very comfortable beach beds, a nice restaurant and a water sports club too. Service was pretty good too. We had a lovely relaxing time and so glad we went.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 24, 2023
- PTsourosDublin, Ireland61 contributionsCavalier Attitude with Very High Price TagI pre booked 2 umbrellas 4 sunbeds at a hefty price of €180 for our visit to Astir Beach. Once you book you receive a bar code and booking details by email. You have to present the code to the reception desk and they print the tickets. I don’t understand in this day and age of technology why they cannot scan the barcode on entry. We are arrived to the beach at 2pm, and I handed in my phone on which I had our barcode . There is an (always has been) very unwelcoming dark window with little holes through which to speak to the woman sitting behind it , you can barely see or hear her. It should have been a seamless process but it turned into a 30 minute stressful unpleasant process in which the unprofessional receptionist told me she could not locate my tickets so I could not enter the beach after paying €180 and presenting my barcode confirmation. I asked her to call for a concierge (a service offered with booked tickets) and she refused to do so. She held onto my mobile and I had to keep asking her to hand me back my phone which she would not do. To cut a very long and disturbing story short my husband bombarded his way through security and made his way into the beach to find the manager. When I finally got my mobile back, I went past security and saw a concierge and got her attention. After a short discussion with her and showing her my booking confirmation she guided us to our seats and said she would notify the manager about the incident. I told her I wanted to speak to the manager as well and asked her send him to us. We never saw a manager, never received an apology. Height of arrogance in a time when everyone needs to support local business. The beach was at half captivity and the service very poor. Beautiful beach and sea. As a local resident I have been going to Astir Beach for years and am disgusted with their cavalier behavior yesterday. I was told the beach is now run by the Four Seasons Athens, which is right next door. If that’s the case the Four Seasons needs to get its act together and bring Astir up to its high standards.Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten March 16, 2024
- eileenmurray1000Athens, Greece12 contributionsBeach is lovely however the restaurant operator PRIVILEGE is a big rip off. Euro 3 for each bottle of small Evian waterBeach is lovely especially during the week. The « privilege « restaurant that operates the beach is not good and grossly overpriced. A vegetable fajita egg white sandwich costs 17 euros. The icing on the cake is the small bottles of Evian water that cost euro 3 each. No large bottles of water so with the heat you need at least 4 bottles to survive. Do yourself a favor go to a bakery load up on better food and drinks and enjoy your day at the beach so that you don’t end up frustrated and feeling ripped offVisited June 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 11, 2024
- Sam NLondon, United Kingdom21 contributionsGood beach club on the Riviera (but book the right end which has service)We nearly didn’t go to this based on all the poor reviews, but it was exactly as we would expect from a beach club. Yes, overpriced (we also went on a public holiday), but decent beach, service to the sun-beds was great and attentive (thanks Christos), the food was ok and it had some good music. As long as you aren’t on a budget and you book the right end of the beach ( privilege 18+ only) certainly give it a go!Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 25, 2024
- travelgoddess918Brooklyn, New York18 contributionsBeauty at the Beach in Greece!Astir Beach is a pleasant and peaceful beach experience where the waters are cool and the sun and sand are HOT! Reserving an umbrella or bed is an easy on line experience and recommended if you want to take the guess work out of a nicely maintained and more upscale beach club visit. We enjoyed watching the anchored yachts, and Heliport landings at the Four Seasons Hotel all within view from our front row ocean seats. When the restaurant is open and food and drink delivery is available to your chairs, you'll be happy that you made the choice to visit Astir Beach.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 3, 2024

While it is on the more expensive side if you are spending a day in the Rivera it is worth it to pay for it. Shopping, drinks, small bites, beach area with day beds and cabanas.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 29, 2024
- karaboo2000Los Angeles, California75 contributionsBeautiful beach clubReally loved this beach club-visited twice during the week on vacation and thought the price was reasonable for the experience and beautiful beach. The price is double on the weekends and I don’t think I would pay that much, though. We ate at the beach club and really enjoyed the food. The service around the club is a bit snotty, but there are plenty of nice people as well. Overall would definitely return if I were to vacation here again.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 5, 2024

For 40€/each person you used to get towels and water included (and if I recall cold towels to cool you off) — you don’t anymore nor is it indicated as such that any services discontinued. Call button does not work and the workers are extremely pretentious and are not attentive. I asked for a frappe and said they don’t make them anymore. What? You’re at a beach bar and you don’t make frappe? LOL. Come on! We waited over 30 min for our coffees. It just wasn’t the Astir I remember pre-COVID that I would go to a few times each summer. I also noticed the “VIP” section got towels so obviously it can’t be due to COVID, right? Maybe just be upfront and said we had to change our services. Next time we will go to Akti across the street for a fraction of the price and have an overall better experience. I will say the food remained the same and was just as tasty but u fortunately it wasn’t enough to counter the rating. You need to do better and consider the reviews here and start responding to them. While you may think people come here one time, that is simply not true and people do consider reviews when going somewhere. If I do go again, I will ensure I call ahead to see if anything changed before dropping 80€ entrance for 2 people.

Beach is beautiful, sunbeds are comfortable and showers as well as changing rooms are well-mainted. Price is just ridiculous for the service offered. We went last week (may 2022) and staff is extremely inexperienced to the point that they don’t even know how a POS works for card payments as they made us select which bank we want them to get paid to😂 Bar run out of ICE (quite unusual I would say for a bar) as the team was just too careless to make the ice machine preparations on time. This resulted to receiving margarita cocktails which were hot. Waitresses and waiters have just been hired and it is obvious they have absolutely no clue on the job and neither care to learn. We understand that there is lack of personnel in Athens as most people prefer to work season in islands which is more rewarding but if the best you could recruit were service staff who dont know how to operate a POS, then you might consider not charging 70 euro per sunbed on a working day. Trying to pretend to be elite is funny when your personnel is less trained and professional than service teams in remote greek villages by the sea. Would recommend to the management to visit some international elite beach bars in Mykonos, Dubai, Cape Sounio and Santorini to educate themselves first, before attempting to run the business without the necessary background. I rarely write reviews but honestly service was so bad to the point it was funny to watch. Please educate yourselves and put work on this great establishment which has all the potential to become a top beach destination across the country.

The price per 2 beds and an umbrella is £80, in the meantime NO beach towels supplied, we were advised to buy them in the beach shop. The space between lines of the sun beds is so small so there is no way to shift back as the sun comes round by midday. The umbrellas do not bend sideways either. There are a lot of cigarette ends on the beach sand. It would be great to at least educate your relevant clients that they are expected to tidy up after themselves. If that hasn’t been done, the staff must ensure that everything is clean after each client left. This is a joke guys. You just cannot call yourself a luxury place and charge so much money while having such issues. I’d be happy to pay any price for appropriate level of services.

I was very disappointed from the service provided. We booked online a pair of sunbeds for 160euros, which makes it the most expensive beach in athens. When we arrived we asked for 2 beach towels and they told us that due to covid (what a joke, all covid restrictions were lifted nationwide a few months ago) they cannot provide towels to paying customers and we should buy new ones from one of their stores - bear in mind that 2 years ago the price for 2 sunbeds was 120 euros and they always offered beach towels. Even at the best beaches of Mykonos, by far the most expensive destination of Greece, the price of the sunbeds is the same but at least they have the common decency to offer a couple of beach towels to their customers for free. After explaining the matter to the person in charge, the only response I managed to get was “we will relay your complaints to management”. I’m not recommending this beach to anyone. There are other beaches with far better services with way more reasonable prices.

I think this place is overpriced, it’s nice when you spend one day here but not more than that it’s not worse it in my opinion. We did enjoy a day there, got chairs and umbrellas in the front row, seems safe left our stuff in the table no issues. Chairs could have used more cleaning.
Next time I I would love to explore other beaches if I have more time at the riviera.
Also hookah seemed very over priced, 100 dollars while at coyocan which is a fancy bar restaurant club it was 50 so little strange, quality was not good either

the water was wonderful. the sand was great. BUT we paid 120 euro for an umbrella which is crazy. to top it off, the service was so slow. I asked for a pomegranate daquiri that was on the cocktail menu and my drink was yellow. clearly not the correct drin and their response was bc we use juice instead of pomegranates its not red lol whatever that means!!!!!! it wasn't even good. there are aggressive seagulls that literally will come and swipe up your 20 euro meal, they have no cares. we wanted to order a late lunch and they took so long we ended up leaving and eating elsewhere. I don't even think it's the servers fault.. she had said she was alone so clearly they're unorganized and msot likely under staffed.
oh and with 120 euro you can at least offer free valet parking. maybe even 5 euro? but it was 10 euro.
lower your prices or step up your game.

The service is ok. The beach waiters are polite. However, no towels are provided, despite the very high admittance fee (60-80 euros during weekdays).
There is no surveillance of the beach for loud and inconsiderate people (a lot of them around). The restaurants are ok but their service is below standard. The restaurants do not provide tap water to the customer. Instead, they impose on the customer bottled water (charging €3 for every bottle!).

We were a group of four American young adults, and we reserved two front-row beach umbrellas in the 18+ section. The beach is beautiful and well-kept, and the loungers are nice. The beach waiters are kind, food/drink was tasty; but, the drink menu was extremely limited and the drinks were weak, and the food was simple and messy. Have to agree with the other reviewers that the food/drink was not ultimately worth the extremely high price. The beach staff needs to do a better job of keeping the 18+ area as it is described, because we were frequently bothered by screaming children. We would return, as it was overall a positive experience, but we would find food and drink elsewhere. If you're looking for an extremely delicious dinner after a day at the beach, go to Ithaki restaurant, which overlooks the ocean and is only a 3 minute walk.

The beach itself is stunning and clean. The private beach is nice, but not worth the price you pay. The cost is for only the sunbed. Nothing else, and the sunbeds are okay, nothing to rave about.
Service was okay, but in a country like Greece where the hospitality standards are so high, theirs falls incredibly short. Waiters were polite, but very slow and sometimes don't come at all.
The experience does not feel luxury, plastic cups, etc. Food and drinks are extremely overpriced for the quality. Generally food and drinks in the area are incredible, but this was really average.. expect the same type of food and drinks as what you'd get from like a chain restaurant with a weekend bar. Not at all worth the price.
We enjoyed our day at the beach, but won't be back again. Would rather enjoy the free beaches and spend the money on getting a luxury beach experience a different way. Because everything at Astir was just okay, nothing really memorable or notable at all.

As is known, it is one of the most famous luxury beaches of Attica.
The beach is quite good and clean and we enjoyed our bath!
Unfortunately though, quite a few things fall short of the supposed luxury reputation this place has.
1/ the sunbeds are made out of plastic and it gets really hot as soon as the sun bakes them and the sunbed set for 4 people is not spacious enough for 4 adults nor ergonomic.
2/ the virgin mojito costs 15 euros, same as the regular mojito, something that is not listed in the price list.
3/ there was bacon in the club sandwich which is not listed in the menu, which is a problem when for some personal reasons you can't eat it…
4/ around us there were 3 groups with cigars and we were with small children (under 10 years old).
The smell of cigars was strong enough that the children got headaches and had to get away from the area for about half an hour.
Since they have a special area for over 18s, they could also make a special area for those who wish to smoke their cigars.
It should be noted that no offer of water/coffee/soft drinks etc. or a refund or a partial refund was made to us when we made the remark to the staff about the drinks and food.
I believe that for the price we paid we can find something better or if not, something slightly worse but definitely more economical!
Our friends from abroad had the same opinion... too bad!

If you book a reservation online for chairs, can you cancel? The website does not make any reference to cancellation policies.

I would doubt it but I don’t know, my advice would be to take a risk and turn up early on the day. Good luck.

Hi,
How do you book chairs in advance?
Kind regards,

I booked through the Plazz app when I went last summer. Very easy...and I was able to pick the exact seats I wanted, i.e., at the water and closer to the restaurant. :-)
Written July 9, 2019
If i go to the Plazz app to book the loungers in advance does that also include the entry fee. I am seeing €35 to the reserved area on a friday in may but am worried that might not include the fee to also enter the beach. Any answer much appreciated

When I went last summer it covered everything. All I had to do was check in upon arrival to the beach. Enjoy!
