€18 to sit by a lake but otherwise it’s great.
Lovely visit. The fish tickle when they are nibbling your feet and the scenery of the lake is beautiful. I had a nice relaxed day here lithe water was warm. €18 to get in though is a bit expensive to sit by a lake.
Dear DomLes94, We are really glad that you enjoyed your visit. Kindly be informed that during the week the cost is €15 per person. The price includes Lifeguard on duty, Medical support by the doctor, use of lockers and showers, free parking, free wi-fi, changing cabins and a sun bed. We are looking forward to welcoming you again. Have a great week! Best Regards,

    Pleasant
A really lovely place, that’s easily accessible via public transport. The fish were funny and tickled our feet while they were nibbling away. The lake was about 23 degrees so not super cold, but also not very warm. There was some general upkeep and repair work going on while we were there and the staff did a good job at keeping the noise to a minimum. We also spotted a nice tortoise having a little stroll around too. Well worth a visit.

    Perfect destination
This is a great day out. We took the tram to voula then a 5 minute Uber. I would advise getting here early or booking online beforehand which we never did. It is normally 15 euros per adult. We paid extra for a double sunbed and cover. The food and drink is a bit on the pricey side but not over the top. You could take your own though which I would advise as it is only sandwiches, chips, etc. The lake is gorgeous and when we was there it was 19 degrees Celsius outside and 22 degrees in the lake. Once in there it was pretty warm and lively to swim in as it is fed from the sea and natural springs. Even though it was quite busy it was still so peaceful and relaxing. You can even have the Dr fish eat the dead skin from your feet.

    Better than the beach
Beautiful swimming spot. Warm water and cover from the wind. A little hazardous place for my pale skin since before swimming the sun screen should be scrubbed off. The place is on the more expensive side, costing at least 15e to enter.

    Must do
This is just a little outside of Athens, we took a taxi which was not really exspensive. We went in march so it was not many people but the weather was really nice and the water was not really cold. It was really funny to stand still kn the water because there are small fishes like spa fishes.

    Beautiful and so
Absolutely beautiful. We treated ourselves to the private grass area under the trees which is 55€ each - well worth it to sit in relative peace and quiet. The lake is stunning. The staff are lovely and service at your sun bed fantastic. It is a beautiful therapeutic, relaxing chilled day. We had lunch at the restaurant - very simple but well made food in a lovely setting. The facilities are modern and kept very clean. All in all a fabulous day out.

    Small but clean and beautiful
We went there because the sea water was too cold for us and a local told us that the lake temperature is around 20-23 degrees all year round. The lake is very close to the beach, it has a big rock on one side and a café and sunbeds on the other side. You can swim from the one side to the other within 10 minutes, so it’s small size. It was rather clean (for a lake) and the surrounding deck/chairs and café was also very clean and well maintained. Excellent service too. However, for 19euros per person (Sunday price per person, May), we would expect to have a sunbed, or at least a bottle of water or a towel. Sunbeds existed with no additional cost, but all of them were already taken, so we had to sit on chairs.

Great day lake swimming and sunbathing
This is a stunning location, the lake is spotless, 25 degrees and the fish that nibble your feet when you sit still at the side are fascinating, they don’t bother you when you are swimming. We went on a Sunday so expecting it to get busy we arrived shortly after 0900hrs, we didn’t prebook so paid at the gate, €19, pp, for that you get a choice of sunbed or chair, with umbrellas, no towels so take your own, changing facilities on site, food and drinks were the same price as elsewhere, staff were helpful and attentive, free disabled lift to assist those needing help in and out of the water and whilst they were in the water the lifeguards were particularly attentive to them. Definitely worth a visit.

    Natural beauty
Was very easy to find as it is just across from the sea on the Athenian Riviera. Once you head down towards the lake the natural beauty surrounding the area is stunning. As it was spring there were plenty of wildflowers which also enhanced the view. It is a lovely place to relax, we were fortunate that although it was only April the weather was beautiful. However, it can get very busy which somewhat spoils the ambience of the area. Although the staff were very friendly, one slight negative was that the entry fee was quite high hence would probably not return though It was worth a visit, if only once.

    Beautiful, relaxing, (expensive) place
We spent all day here (despite rain showers half way through!) and were glad we had splashed out and reserved a sofa section. It was very expensive but we just accepted it and had a lovely relaxing day going in and out of the water, reading, playing cards and eating some delicious food and drink, courtesy of the waiter table service. We also found the spa fish a fun extra! Such a beautiful, natural place.

Entrance in 2020 is 18 euros which I would find reasonable if they would live up to their standards. If you’re looking for a sunbed you gotta be the first one to enter lake vouliagmenis, thanks to the fact that there are basically 10 sunbeds in there. Except if you’re not planning to tan, then you could sit on some chairs (not comfortable btw). Also apparently if you don’t find a place to sit at you would have to leave. I wasn’t allowed to sit on the ground next to the lake, cause i was “blocking” the passageway (which I respectfully accepted and moved on). Another thing, staff was not helpful, we were given no information nor any water, except for one lady i really appreciated she actually looked for a place we could lay at. The lake wasn’t even that clean. Honestly I do not recommend going there at all, unless you’re going to the restaurant, which i personally haven’t had the chance to try the food there yet, I’ve only seen some prices (fresh orange juice - 5,50€ , coffee - 5,00€). Hope this helped :/

My husband and I visited in March which is hit or miss with the weather. I would recommend bringing warm clothes to change into if you are planning on swimming. The weather outside the lake was about 60 degrees and the water was about 70 degrees. Once you got in and started moving around it was quite enjoyable. The further into the lake you go the warmer it is. My husband and I also liked the fish that eat your dead skin- free pedicure :)

The venue was very clean, had great bathrooms, and a locker room area.

I would recommend visiting as a tourist attraction. It’s a very cool and unique spot in Greece.

BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL. You cannot rent you have to buy.

I stopped here on the way back for the Temple of Poseidon. It can be reached using the same bus from the main station in Athens centre. It's a fabulous location with a beautiful rock face and cave set behind a wonderful lake. There is decking around one side with a cafe and sunbeds but you have to pay 15 Euros to enter. If you wish to just see it and take great photos - as I did - then go to the car park to the left of the main entrance and walk to the back left corner where you will be directly above the lake and cave for some amazing photos.

Only 30 minutes away from the Athens city center is where you’ll find Lake Vouliagmeni. And I can tell you guys, it’s been a truly mesmerizing experience to be able to visit this place.

+ The water is between 19 and 30 degrees which is good for your body

+ they serve amazing iced coffee. I recommend the Late Freddo, and if you’d want to go for some food I’d go for the fresh grilled potatoes with rosemary and feta cheese.

+ with the hop on hop off tour bus you can get tickets for 25,-. Cheapest way to visit this place

Note : you have to pay 15 euros per person for a ticket. But believe me, it’s worth it.

10/10 would visit this place again.

We travelled from Athens to the lake, originally we were going to get the metro to the last station and then get a bus but we were advised to take the tram at Neos Kosmos to Gafada. We got off at Gafada and then walked along seafront for 10 minutes to the local square and then waited for a bus, in the guide book it advised 117 or 115 and 122 but a local gentleman advised to get the 122 as it went straight there rather than the 117 that went around the town.
Unfortunately we missed out stop and the bus started to climb away from the lake quite rapidly we pushed the button and got off at the very top at a view point. We crossed the road and within minutes Another bus came which we got on as we knew there was no turn offs prior to the take, we got off at the first drop and it was directly outside the lake.
It was 8€ entrance. The water was 21c and said to have healing properties, at first it felt cold but once we were in it was lovely, we watched birds fish from the lake, my partner had the little fish clean her feet for about 20 minutes, I couldn’t bare it. There are free sunbed, hot showers, toilets, lockers and waiters who come and take your orders from the cafe. It was sunny at about 18c in feb and then had heaters to help warm you up. Would highly recommend this wonderful place.

This lake and the cliffs are so beautiful, we spend 6 hours here! You have to be OK with hundreds of little fish eating your dead skin. Water is super clean and clear, its temperature was 25 degrees on a hot day. Purchasing a ticket for the privé area is a must, cause the other decks looked very crowded/small, or sunbeds were placed inpractical where people would pass all the time or giving little room. I wouldn't want to have gambled what spot I would have gotten there.

The privé area explored its capacity/1.5m distance while we were there, adding and moving sunbeds closer to ours as the day progressed to accomodate more guests and their wishes, but luckily it didn't escalate too much.

The staff in the privé area was very friendly, and perhaps they were instructed to leave us alone as much as possible, cause our empty drinks weren't cleared for hours, and they never asked if we wanted anything else. This could be improved upon.

The restrooms are great, and the shower was ok.

All in all, we were here for the secenery and lake, and we had amazing swims and were able to relax. Loved it!

Btw, we rented a car and drove here in 30 min from Athens, but you can also pay for a city tourist bus and reach this lake.

My mum and I travelled from Athens city centre to Lake Vouliagmeni for the day. We took the subway M2 (red line) from Omonoia subway station to Elliniko. It was very cheap only costing us €1.20 per person. Subway was quiet and well air conditioned. From there we took the 122 bus, which was just outside the subway station, and got off at Limni (see attached photo for Greek name on bus stop). The entrance to Vouliagmeni Lake was just across the road from this stop. The lake was absolutely beautiful! We only payed for a basic sun chair and entry which was €15 per person. The area is also surrounded by beautiful beaches and restaurants so it is definitely worth visiting. When travelling back on the bus, I recommend getting on at Vouliagmeni bus stop rather than walking part way as the further down the bus goes, the busier it gets and you risk not getting on. Hope this helps.

I was really excited to visit this place, but was disappointed.

My husband and I arrived around 10:30am on weekday which was a good time to avoid the queue and we managed to get the last seats of the front row to the lake.

Before we visited, I somehow imagined the area to be much bigger. I assume due to covid, the number of people permitted to enter the lake would have been reduced. However, it still felt very crowded and most people did not observe social distancing rules once they were inside the lake.

The swims itself in the lake was fun experience with all the fish nibbling at you.

The place felt more like big local public pool than a scenic nature swim. So I felt the entrance fee was a little overpriced. We lasted 2 hours and went to the beaches nearby instead.

Went to the lake straight from the airport after an overnight flight. Taxi from the airport cost about €35 and took around half an hour at 8am. When we got to the lake it hadn’t been open for very long so it was very quiet and there were plenty of loungers available - though by lunch time every single one was occupied so definitely get there earlier if you want a seat! Our luggage (two cabin sized bags) fit easily in the free lockers provided. The lake has showers, toilets, changing rooms, food & drink… everything you could possibly want after an overnight flight as you wait for check-in time at your hotel! The location was beautiful for a lazy day in the sun, and the lake was refreshingly cool - but not cold. Our only issue was getting back to the centre of Athens afterwards. We opted to take public transport as it was much cheaper (€1.20 for a 90 minute ticket) but as we hadn’t already purchased a bus ticket we had to walk around 15 minutes to find a kiosk where we could buy them, and then two buses drove right past us because they were too overcrowded. It took us over two hours to get from the lake to Omonia. We will definitely just spend extra and get a taxi next time to save the hassle. So just a word of warning to anyone who might want to take public transport, get your tickets before you go and don’t leave at peak times! We definitely hope to visit the lake again someday. It was one of the best days of our trip to Athens!

Found this place by chance and it turned into one of our most enjoyable days of the holiday.

The premise is simple; you pay entry and have use of the beautiful lake and seating. We found the staff to be incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived in our car, when they direct you to your parking space. Then, once you’ve bought your ticket, you can head straight to the area in front of the lake. I wouldn’t call it a ‘beach’ but there are rows of sun loungers and chairs to choose from. It was pretty busy on our visit but we found somewhere easily.

The lake itself is stunning, one of the most beautiful scenes with the sun shining down. Yes, there are thousands of those little fish which nibble your feet but that really only happens if you stand still and it’s not quite as dramatic as some of the people here are making out. It’s no big deal.

Swimming around is a joy. The water is lovely, it’s a fairly big area and you can come in and out as often as you want to. We actually found a lovely ‘premium’ area to lie in, which you have to pay a bit extra for, but then have a waiter to order food and drinks from.

All in all, I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and we’ll definitely go back as soon as we can.
