Great Hotel
May 2019 • Couples
I've been coming to the Divani Hotel for the past 15 years. It is a great hotel with a wonderful staff. Mr. Venizelos is exceptional and goes above and beyond to always make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel!

Spa Customer Service
I recently visited the Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso with a friend. It was to be the highlight of our week-long stay in Athens and I was very much looking forward to the Thalasso Spa. Being a previous resident at the hotel and having used the Spa before, I could not wait for the ultimate treat. The experience could not have disappointed us more. On arrival, we were told that the Thalasso Spa was closed for maintenance. Had we known that - we would have booked another date! They neglected to tell us this when we called to book massages and use of the Spa facilities.

We were provided with the usual toweling slippers, which got completely sodden in soapy water when the floor of the whole Spa was being cleaned, and we had to walk through it to get to the only other facilities we could use - the sauna and steam room - so we trudged through with our sodden slippers, passing the handful of workmen who were busy working on the Thalasso pool. To say that we felt like idiots is an understatement - and we had to the make the walk a few times! Our massages, which were ok - (very standard and would have cost 15 Euro five minutes away, not 120 Euro in a Spa that was clearly going through maintenance. We eventually thought it best to resign ourselves to just go and sit by the pool outside. The Spa Receptionist and Manager thought it clever to try at get 40 Euros EACH out of us for sitting outside in the wind by the pool - after the crappy experience they had given us - no way! All they kept repeating was "sorry" and come back another day (come back next week - after our flights back to the UK - how useful).

The customer service was outright terrible. Number one, we should have been told of the spa maintenance before our arrival - we would of booked a different day. Number two, they should never have expected us to walk in sodden slippers and robe past working men - how embarrassing! Number three - they should never have asked us for 40 euros each to sit upstairs following this debacle.

We complained to the Spa Receptionist who just kept saying sorry but offering nothing to make the experience any more bearable.

We complained to the Spa Manager who asked us to come back after we had flown back to London. Who hired this guy as a Manager of anything?

We waited for what seemed like an age to complain to the hotel manager. As myself and my friend had both been patriots of the hotel previously, perhaps he could understand our situation and perhaps, I don't know, let us sit outside?? Well, he or she could not be bothered to show up after waiting what seemed like an age for an appearance. They obviously waited for us to give up and leave - which we did.

Shame on them.

I will never come back and patronize this hotel. Apart from the hotel rooms needing some serious updating... it is like going back in time.... the last thing they need is for their past patriots to be feeling like this when we show up time after time to give our hard earned money to them.

Learn some customer service. We pay you an absolute fortune. You are not fooling us - you are making a mockery of Greek Customer Service. I am Greek and to think this behaviour is being strewn around who they deem to be "tourists" - only makes us as a hospitable nation look bad.

I hope you change and change for good.

Dear Ria55555, We are surprised to read about this unpleasant experience at our Awarded Divani Athens Spa & Thalasso Center, because as you have already seen, our reviews, from both international and local guests are exceptional for the facilities, the large space, our staff, our therapies. What we tried to explain you, was that on your phone reservation you did not clarify that you also needed to use the thalassotherapy pool. Additionally, according to our official policy, the cost of the external pools is different from that of the spa. For safety reasons also and according to the Spa terms and conditions, our guests, for safety reasons cannot leave their personal items. Last but not least, the Hotel Manager was at the reception, 5 minutes from the time you asked him. As a five star hotel, member of the Leading Hotels of the World and as an awarded spa with hundreds of members, we always try to offer to our guests the best possible services and experiences. Thank you for your time and we are truly sorry for this unpleasant experience. With appreciation.

Just a shame it was only 1 night!!

Ended up in this lovely hotel by default. Our British Airways flight diverted to Athens and this is where we were put up for the night. We all kind of expected a very basic hotel, but wow what a surprise! About 25 minutes from the airport and right on the beach. Quite a glitzy entrance and lobby area, swiftly checked in and a late buffet supper was provided at 11PM. Rooms are huge, clean and very comfortable with balconies. A super buffet breakfast set us up for the rest of the day. Unfortunately the stay was short so did not have time to check out all the facilities, but I would certainly consider booking this venue next time I intentionally go to Athens! Oh yes, it seemed like they cater for large conferences so if on business, give the Divani some consideration. Staff excellent too. Will be back.

Mega Spa

The Divani is on oasis just 25 minutes from Athens a just steps away from a very nice beach. We enjoyed both the regular and salt water pools, and I wish we could have been there when the spa was open.

Some 43km from Poseidons Temple on a empty highway, we found this hotel. Clean, slick, well located on the Athenian Riviera. The rooms are the correct size, well set out with a super well maintained bathroom. The balconies all have a sea view. The pools are good, but can be crowded at the peak of the day. The beach bar area is great, without people, but for us it was too crowded to enjoy, though the sea is as clear as always in GreeceBooked through Amex . A good choice. We like.

Really couldn't ask for more. Great location, beautiful view, smiling and helping staff, food is really superb and service is very professional. Thanks to a great team, you really made my stay a very pleasant one. The shuttle service to Glyfada Glyfada and Syntagma is a plus. The hop on hop off bus stop is across the street. Beach, swimming pools and a spa are all available. Thanks once more😊
