Captain John took us for a tour of the Aegean near Glyfada. It was a gorgeous day and the Aegean is beautiful and mesmerizing with many shades of turquoise and deep blue. He prepared a snack and meal for us including fresh bread, a tomato and cucumber salad, and grilled fish. We talked about life, sang Lemonaki, enjoyed each others' company, the sea, and the weather - wonderful, simple pleasures that won't be forgotten. Thank you, Thanos and Captian John! Lemonaki forever!

We had a fantastic day out on the Poseidon with Capt John and his daughter Ellea & her daughter. Whilst it was a windy day, Capt John expertly piloted the boat around the coastline. Ellea prepared some tasty cheese and sesame bread sticks to go with our drinks. We dropped anchor for a swim and then he prepared a lovely lunch of fish, chicken, rice and salad. Plentiful supplies of water, wine, beer, ouzo, Coke etc throughout the trip. He provided some delicious chocolate muffins for our sons birthday and a candle for him to blow out. Capt John then let us each take the wheel, which was a great experience! It was a great day out for us all and would recommend to anyone to do. Thanks Capt John for a great day!

There are plenty of things to do while in Glyfada but you cannot miss spending a day in the sea on board of this sailing boat. Probably this was the highlight of our trip and the pictures we took on board with the beautiful sceneries on the background will remain one of the best shoots I have ever taken. The trip starts at 10:00 am from the Glyfada 4th Marina (just across the street from Fenix Hotel) and you sail your way for 5 hours along to coast of Glyfada and Vouliagmeni. The first stop is around 200 meters from Astir Beach where you can swim to the nearest rocky beach, snorkel or just tan on board. The second stop is just a few miles away where you will have lunch prepared on board (we had fish, burgers, chicken, Greek Salad, yummy potatoes and drinks). The skipper Elia and the Captain were more than friendly and dedicated to our satisfaction. The boat is clean and well maintained. It can accommodate up to 12 persons (all adults). This trip is designed to spend the day in the sea along the coast and not to go to any near islands because the boat is considerably slow and it will take hours to reach the nearest inhabited island.

We wanted to spend some time in a romantic atmosphere, and Summer Sun Sailing gave us that opportunity. A very nice boat, beautiful landscapes, super clear water to swim in, a tasty seafood lunch cooked in place by the captain, and a lot of time alone, like there was no one else on the boat.

In Athens, there is much for tourists to do on land, but that only tells half the story about Greece. I suggest spending a day on the water. There's no better way to do that than sailing with Captain Thanos aboard The Poseidon. The great service began with a complimentary pick up from our hotel in Athens for the 20 minute drive to the boat dock. Once on board, Captain Thanos told us a bit about the the boat and the islands we cruised past. After about 45 minutes of sailing, we anchored in a secluded cove. Thanos went below to begin preparing what seemed like an endless array of delicious Greek snacks. Cheeses, smoked fish, salad, grilled vegetables and more. The wine, beer, ouzo and water flowed freely. Thanos is an excellent host! The main course of pasta, shrimp and muscles had us all going back for seconds! It was early in the season and a bit cool. I was the only one who jumped in the Aegean for a swim. It was too cold for snorkeling. But there was plenty of entertainment on board, including fishing and a Greek history lesson. My favorite part of the day was when Thanos stretched a hammock between two masts for me to have a short snooze after swimming. The Poseidon does have a bathroom on board and it is comfortable for four to six passengers. Any more would be a tight squeeze, in my opinion. The gangway to board is narrow, so if you have balance issues that could be tricky. Another trick will be getting reservations. He books fast! The cost is$125 pp. It's money well spent! We had a fabulous time.
