Superb setting, on a headland overlooking a beach. Lovely ruins and good beach. Travelled from Varkiza having struggled to find out about transportation. Took the 122 bus to Saronida, then a taxi to Sounio. Discovered the Ktel bus that was rumoured to exist but wasn't...More

If you're staying anywhere on the Attic coast south of Athens, this is a must-do excursion. If you have your own car, it's an easy drive down the dramatic coast line to the southern tip of Attica, where the ancient Temple of Poseidon stands poised...More

The site itself is not that big and doesn't take long to visit. But is certainly one of the most preserved temples, and gives views to become memories for life. Adults have a tickets for 8€, students within EU are free up to the age...More

I agree also some taxis might take advantage of the tourists but highly recommend day tours that can easily be arranged As for steps for temple of Poseidon it's relatively easy walk compared to other archaeological sites !
