The church is nothing exceptional. However it is located at the summit of the town of Flores. It was closed when we were there. The main square is also low key. However there are good views out onto the cobblestone streets of Flores, rooftops and the lake. Worth the 5 minute walk to get here.

Flores is a small town, but it is the capital of the Peten district hence it houses a Cathedral church that administers the Diocese, The Cathedral is a rather small and underwhelming structure that sits on the highest point of the island on the side of the central plaza, as was usual in colonial times. Even though it is small, it is well taken care of and it's perhaps the only building of note in Flores, and for that alone it deserves a visit, albeit, it may be a short one.

It is an easy walk up to see this pretty church. Young men were enthusiastically playing basketball on the courts outside when we went. There are some nice stained glass windows.

Tiny and beautiful located in the town's main square on Isla Flores. Go for a stroll
and enjoy this little village's main square, Governor' House and Cathedral!

It's right on top of the island, all the roads lead there as long as you keep going up. It's big, white, and... that's about it. Not something worth a "wow" or worth climbing for. However, not even the view of the lake is great from up there.

Just Another Beautiful Cathedral (ABC). If you are in Flores and want to see a cathedral pop in for a visit. It is a nice cathedral; however, honestly it really isn't "special" and/or nothing distinguishes it from a hundred other cathedrals in Guatemala.

I agree with the reviews that say, it is a lovely, but simple cathedral. Yes, there black Christ, but I was surprised s d e cited to see the the 30 or so beautiful stained glass windows almost at ceiling height. The biblical history, New Testiment, are exceptional. People are constant prayers, so it is a living institution in this very impoverished town.

The Catedral is the heart of this small, round island in the middle of the lake. Houses are painted in strong, vibrant colors. There are small restaurants, hotels and hostels catering to young budget travellers. There is not too much to be seen, nor especially nice places to hang around, so a short visit is all that is needed. Choose a hotel in the jungle like the Las Lagunas Hotel.
