I have been to this place while viisting a friend and we went for a walk. The place has very well designated parking, barbeque shelters, club house and boating piers.
The walkways are very well done keeping all age groups in consideration. I saw many family and groups of friends visiting this place and having a good time.
Good place and you may visit this place if you have couple of spare hours while viisting this place.
Enjoy

Love this park. It has a nice jogging/walking trail around the lake. It is wide enough to make a lap or two. It also has sand volleyball field, playground, and grill areas.
There is a small food stall where you can buy snacks.
During Summer time, they have a paddle boat swans to use for a small fee.
You'll see lots of ducks and geese in the lake area.
We found a goose egg one time!
The park is located next to Movies 14 and Senior Recreation Center in Mckinney. It is adjacent to a small meadow/trail that you can explore.

If you are not going to town lake park you are just missing out. It's beutiful and well maintained. There are so many options to access, walking or running on the great path around the lake, picnicking, games like horseshoes and sand court volleyball, softball games, paddle boat rentals, unlimited photographic opportunities, or just relaxing on the grass or benches . The park is safe, well lighted, and you may even get to see the Mounted Police Patrol ride through on their beautiful horses.. Don't bring alcohol, and be courteous to the other park goers and enjoy one of McKinney's nicest spots. And it's all free!

This was the first time we have visited this park and we organized a family get together. McKinney was a central location so I found this park on the McKinney City website. I called and reserved a pavilion and they made it easy and gave me additional info about the park. Our pavilion was next to the horseshoe pits and the baseball field. The lake was really nice and there were lots of people walking, jogging and enjoying the paths. The park was really clean and they have a nice kids area and paddle boats you can rent. If I lived closer I would enjoy going here all the time. The pavilion had 4 metal picnic tables, an electric outlet and was a nice big size. We will definitely plan another family event here in the future.

Pretty small (no boating except for the paddle boats and paddle swans) lake in the heart of McKinney. Huge trees, and walking path - during the summer the city hosts events there too.

GORGEOUS. I’m from Missouri, we have a decent share of nice parks. This one made it to my top 5 favorite parks (I have many)
The disc golf course is pretty interesting and the main reason I went there. Seems like there is a lot of space to do anything you want here. I can’t wait to play some sand volleyball!!

Towne Lake Park is a beautiful are in McKinney, it is surrounded by the Senior Center, 14 Movie and High school. It is always very well kept and a great area for families and exercise enthusiasts as well. Many McKinney activities take place in this area during the Spring and Summer, there are areas to have picnics, play volleyball, exercise and definitely go for a paddle boat ride during the spring & summer. If you want to celebrate a birthday party, you can also use the cabanas. Definitely an area to visit!!!

Towne Lake Park in McKinney is one of my favorite places to go in McKinney. The citizen’s center is next to it. I even had the pleasure of listening to the nearby high school band practice across the street from the lake. There are many activities to choose. I chose walking the nature trails and dropping my inflatable two seater kayak in the lake. It even has a trail that leads to a meditation area near the ever flowing creek. Towne Lake is a place for walkers, runners, children, bicyclists and family and group picnics with at least two pavilion huts that can be reserved. Not only can you rent a swan paddle boat, but there is a playground and plenty of parking in several places around the lake.
At present they are improving the roads and other features of the lake area. I am looking forward to what happens next in the park.

This is a large and well appointed park. Two group pavilions that can be rented; small lake for fishing, feeding ducks and paddle boats to rent. Playground, horseshoe pits, volleyball court and plenty of picnic tables with grills. Walking trail goes all the way around the lake, with fountain in the center. Well maintained and generally quiet. We have an annual family picnic here every fall.

I see them on the lake all the time. The city ordinances state that it is not allowed on any body of water in the city park system unless it is specifically allowed at that park. I do not know if there is an exemption for Towne Lake or if people just boat there hoping not to get a citation.
