We took our family with grandkids to see the square for Christmas & it was a delight. The shops were all lit up & we took pictures at the bigger than life nutcrackers & the sleigh. Then we had dinner at Rye. The only reason I didn't give a five is that it began to rain & shortened our walk... More

This old town area was a great place to meet up with friends and have dinner. All the restaurants are non-chain restaurants and all had something different to offer. Looked forward to going to the area each week I was in town for business.

No chain restaurants but quite a variety. Music in the evenings at many of them. Outside dining, wine tastings and shopping. Lots to do especially during festivals!

20 years ago, I walked my dogs down here because it was quiet. Now it is alive on weekends and lunch! Great options from cheap to high dollar. A few interesting shops with specialties and antiques, old and used books. Even a Star Wars shop on Chestnut St. Still miss the surly British Baker but more options now. Don't complain... More

During my family's weekend visit from California during the Cowboys' playoff game, a couple of us who weren't able to personally go to the stadium, traveled to McKinney to entertain ourselves. We were not disappointed!! Not only did we not get stuck in the huge rainstorm and tornado touch downs, we were completely charmed by the historic character and well-preserved... More

Awesome restaurants through out the square with great choices of different cuisines. Great shopping choices with antique options scattered through out. Fun events scheduled through out the year such as car shows, festivals, etc. Great atmosphere. Don't miss out on this.
