Understandably focused on contemporary art and criticism, given the presence of the Chinati Foundation here. Most people don't know that the hotel in which the bookstore is located was, at one time we were told, all bookstore. Upper floors were added later.

After reading the glowing reviews of this bookstore, I was disturbed to find it small, Stark, and without very much selection. I also did not find any unique housewares or other things that would tempt me. Not much in the children’s book department, that’s for...More

This shop has a perfectly curated Marfa vibe. We stop in here every time we're in town. I've found some fantastic gifts, and plenty of things for me, too. A great selection of books, cards, etc. - and some high quality/good looking Marfa shirts.

The store I used to know and love is gone. In its place is a sleek, cold space with a young female clerk who didn't even greet me when I came in and spent the entire time messing with her phone.Where is the old guy...More

The books and merchandise were cool but very expensive. I think I went in with the wrong idea. Also a little peeved that the guy in the store never said a word to us even as we were the only ones browsing.

They have standard business hours, but because they are open to the hotel lobby if there is no one in the Book Store you can check out with the desk staff.
