As far as wine tours go, I highly recommend this company. Benny was very helpful and attentive to all our needs. We were new to the area and he made our experience flawless with many suggestions and ideas for our group. If you are ever visiting the area, reach out to Benny. Trust me, it will be worth it.

Heart of Texan Wine Tours offered a wonderful wine tour of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Not only was it a great value, the trip was well organized and the service was outstanding. Every tasting was pre-arranged, giving us the peace of mind that all of the little details were taken care of.
An even bigger plus is that Heart of Texas would give the winery a heads up when we were headed there - that prepared the winery for our visit and gave them time to have everything setup.
Our driver Dale was respectful, professional, but above all else, the nicest guide anyone could ask for. Dale even took made recommendations for which wineries to try. Our group was there for a bachelorette party and I will certainly keep them in mind for planning the next one!

We paid nearly four hundred dollars and it was a joke. What was supposed to be a winery tour was a tour of places that sold wine. We went to a store in downtown marble falls, an art studio, a grocery store and at the very end an actual winery. This constituted our day.
This is NOT a day of going to wineries in the hill country. Everyone was disappointed on Valentine's day.
The guy who led the tour was nice but they clearly got kickbacks where we went.
When we went to lunch no one got their order and right when we were leaving this sandwich shop the tour guide asked, "everyone went to the tasting room, right?" We're talking about a sandwich place being a stop on the wine tour people.
Horribly disappointed. Considering tastings were at most $10 for each of the four "wineries" we went to, it was a rip off in value.
The company clearly avoided going to respectable wineries and instead went to dead end places where they could maximize their profit margin.
Avoid at all costs!!

I'm very sorry to see this review. My primary goal is to have happy customers.
This couple was one of nine couples we had on Valentines Day and the only one I have heard a complaint from. It's true, we do sometimes visit tasting rooms that do not have a vineyard right outside the door. This is common in Texas as many wineries have tasting rooms that are not in the same location as their vineyards. The stops we made that day are some of the most popular with our customers.
The first one (Enoteca), referred to by the reviewer as "a store in Marble Falls", is the tasting room for Flat Creek Estate, an award winning winery in the area. We often visit the tasting room instead of the winery as the winery is 25 miles in the opposite direction from the majority of the other wineries in the area. This winery has won numerous awards for their wines and they also have a large selection of wines which they import from Italy.
The art gallery the reviewer mentions is actually a tasting room and art gallery in one. They are a licensed Texas winery; however, their grapes are grown in another part of the state. Warren, the owner, is one of the most knowledgeable people in Texas when it comes to wine and he is a favorite among my customers. He goes to great lengths to tell my guests all of the intricacies in tasting and choosing wines that suit their palates. As a bonus, the tastings occur inside the art gallery, managed by Warren's wife Susan, a former arts professor at UT. Customers can sip and admire original works of art at their leisure while they taste. Many of my customers tell me that this is their favorite stop of the day.
The third stop, Hye Market, is not a grocery store. http://www.hyemarket.com/about It is a historic market, built in 1904 and is one of the most popular stops in the Texas Wine Country region. It has been turned into a tasting room, offering samples for several different wineries and breweries in the surrounding area. They also have a gourmet deli using fresh local ingredients so we often have lunch while we are there. Yes, lunch was delayed while the group was there. My drivers told me the waitress got the order wrong, which is unfortunate but these things happen occasionally. However, this allowed the group even more time than usual in the tasting room.
The last winery we visited that day was Texas Hills Vineyards. One of the oldest and best known wineries in the area, I enjoy taking my guests to this award winning winery. I have had only positive feedback from my guests concerning Texas Hills Vineyards.
I want to make one thing perfectly clear. The reviewer states my drivers "clearly got kickbacks". Nothing is further from the truth. Neither I nor my drivers receive anything from the wineries we visit.
Often times, we can and do change the itinerary mid tour to accommodate the wishes of the group.
We appreciate any and all feedback and customer satisfaction is our top priority. That is why we are the top rated tour company in Texas. I have offered this customer another tour at no cost. I hope that he will accept my offer.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to actually go on a Heart of Texas wine tour, but after my experience trying to book one I can wholeheartedly say that I never will. I called 2.5 weeks in advance, trying to book a tour for my husband’s and my first anniversary, as part of a weekend we were spending at a cabin. I called three times and no one picked up, so I left a message. I never received a call back, so I tried again 5 days later. The owner, Dale, told me that he was about to go into a funeral and asked if I could call back the following week. I was very apologetic and quickly got off the phone. I did call back a week later and gave him the information that was in my initial voicemail: we were staying at a cabin in Spicewood, TX and wanted to book a tour for June 7. He said that he had another couple interested in a tour on that date who wanted to swap a couple wineries for breweries. I said that would be fine and he said he just had to check with his driver. I asked if there was a chance that the tour would not happen, because if that were a possibility then I would try to book a back-up tour. He said he “really didn’t think so” and seemed very confident that the tour would happen. He took down the address of the cabin we were staying at and said he would call back later that day (Tuesday) or the next day (Wednesday).
I never heard back, so on Thursday I gave him a call. He barely seemed to remember speaking to me or telling me that he would call me back. When I asked about the tour, he bluntly told me that he didn’t have a driver and the tour would not happen. I was understandably upset, as this was supposed to be a special part of our anniversary weekend and he had reassured me that the tour was almost a sure thing. Again, he barely seemed to remember me and I don’t think he realized that I had been trying to book this for over 2 weeks. He was not apologetic at all and did not seem to care at all that he couldn’t fulfill his promise. I expressed my disappointment in his terrible customer service and quickly hung up.
In retrospect, I was foolish to keep trying to give this company my money since they were extremely difficult to get a hold of and clearly weren’t interested in my business. I would not recommend this company to anyone unless they want to be frustrated and disappointed.

I'm sorry to read this. It is true, she originally called on the day of my brothers death. I was fielding hundreds of calls that day about my brother and must have missed her message. The next time she called was the day of his funeral. I told her there would likely be a tour the day she wanted to go (we don't conduct tours for less than four people) and that I would know more as that day got closer and could she call back later as I was in the middle of a funeral. True, I did have some inquiries from others about a tour that day but they never booked. When she did finally call back I told her that were not enough people for a tour. I could have given her names of other tour companies to call but she was too busy screaming at me for me to get a word in. Then she hung up. I think you can see from our other reviews that this is not the way we normally conduct business. Could I have been more attentive to her needs? Probably, but under the circumstances, trying to arrange my brothers funeral and dealing with his death, I did the best I could. I apologize and will try to do better in the future.

Where do I start? Dale and Charissa picked up our large group at the resort. They were on-time, and their 2 Mercedes Vans were clean, roomy, and air-conditioned.
We visited Garrison Brothers Bourbon Distillery, which was a wonderful, interactive tour that everyone enjoyed! The passion for what they do definitely shows, and it was VERY hands on! Loved it!!
Next was Hye Market...the sandwiches and food there was delicious, and we did both a Beer/Wine tasting there. Great, Historic old building!!
Next was Hye Meadow Wineries, where we had a tasting with Mike the owner in the barrel room. Great experience, great wines....The Junkyard White and the Tempranillo were awesome, and Mike was so patient to answer all of our questions.
The last stop was the Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery in Dripping Springs, where we had great drinks.
Dale & Charissa were organized, and very knowledgeable about the tours. Dale custom built this tour for us; he Will take you where ever you want to go, and make all of the pre-arrangements for you. We will definitely do business with Heart of Texas Wine Tours again, and would recommend them!
Thanks Dale and Charissa for a great experience.

I just spent such a great day with my friends going on a Texas Hill Country Winery tour with a fantastic company, Heart of Texas Wine Tours. It was so well organized, and so comfortable in their large well equipped van. We went to several different wineries, and each one was unique and special in its own way, and not one was like the other! Wonderful tasting wines, tours of the facilities, and we even did a "grape tickling" (cant think of the technical term), it's like grape stomping but we used our hands and arms (instead of our feet) to stir and swirl the grapes in the fermenting juice! Then got a t-shirt with our grape stained handprints on them!! That was awesome! We stopped at a neat little place for lunch in Albert Tx, and it hit the spot!
Charissa was our driver, and she was such a treat! So knowledgeable on wine and helped with which wines to choose for our tastings, based on what we normally prefer. She even took care of our purchases and organized them so we didn't have to worry about them until we got back to our base camp.
Dale Fortenberry, Jr. the owner of the company is such a gentleman and knows how to take care of his clients! Thank you so much HoTWT for such a wonderful day! I would highly recommend this to anyone and I am looking forward to going again..there are lots of wineries still to try in the hill country!

We had a fantastic time on this tour. It started at the WilliamChris Winery where we recieved an excellent tasting of the wines and also the history behind the winery itself which was very interesting, don't forget to look up as the ceiling is constructed from antique doors. After the second tasting we stopped at an open air watering hole that had great food and a dance hall the size of a barn, we took many pictures and would like to return when we have more time. We then stopped at two more wineries before heading back to our hotel. We kept the information from the wineries so that we can recall the stories as we share the wine with friends.
If you enjoy wine and interesting places I guarantee you will enjoy this.
