I was shocked at the price. We didn't have a boat and just came here to swim and picnic. To be clear there is no easy access to the water. At $10 a person there should be beach and a burger shack and umbrellas etc. Don't go without a speed boat.

This is a beautiful lake and close to Lubbock! The water is clean. It is big enough and not too crowded. Highly recommended!

Not a whole lot going on, and that's perfect for me. Cleaner water than BSL, much quieter than BSL, and the campgrounds are kept up better.

For a West Texas Lake, Alan Henry is larger than you would expect and the water is prettier clear compared to older lakes in Texas. The public boat ramp is a bit steep but workable. The dam side is wide and can get rough in the wind and the Gobbler Creek side is a bit narrow but well protected from... More

Beautiful Lake in North West Texas. Great fishing as well. Larger than you might think. Very picturesque.

We're new to Lubbock and we moved from an area nestled between two huge gorgeous lakes that are maintained by the Corps of Engineers so they were always beautiful. Lake Alan Henry was such a huge disappointment. First of all, do not visit the lake without a boat. The lake does not have any swim beaches and very little access... More

I went to Lake Alan Henry with friends on a weekend. Though the counters were closed they had automated ticket system there. Best place for boating paddling fishing with friends and family

I grew up fishing on lake Sam Rayburn in southeast Texas. This lake is very different for me. The rocky outcrops and sudden drop offs from the bank made for great hiding spots for big bass. Watching a family of raccoons play at the edge of a long cove was a pleasant distraction. Definitely worth a trip from Lubbock.

This is a great lake for many activities. The lake is large enough to water sky with out bothering the fishermen. It's also a great fishing lake for the professional and the amateurs. The crappie house is a good place to fish at with plenty of room and lighting is fairly good. I go there often. Not many large shade... More
