This park is a great place to visit. I went here for mountain biking there are great single track trails here, if you are from out of state and not used to the rocky terrain here then even the easy trails can be a bit technical (I am from Utah and do a lot of mountain biking and still found... My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights camping. We reserved a spot at the improved camping sites. The improved camping sites are more fit for RV camping but it was also great for tent camping. Each spot had it's own grill, table, and campfire pit. The spots also have electric hook-up for the RV, and different types of outlets-- I... More

There's a lot to hike. You can get some really pretty shots, and is very relaxing. There is no wow factor, it's just a nice park overall.

Depending upon the side of the park you choose, you can camp on cliffs or right down next to the water. Nice get away not too far outside Austin. Fun even for the day to hang out and swim/cliff jump

Amazing views from our primitive campsite, the only reason we didn't give a 5 star is that the ground is somewhat stony and gravelly, and for tent campers it's great once you find a decent patch of soil. We camped on a weekday, it was very cheap and nice and secluded.

Spent a Saturday here in February hiking the trials. $10 fee to enter the park for the day. The trails were not marked at all so it was very hard to follow and know where to go. Pretty easy hikes even on the harder trails. There were quite a few people on the trails and in the area enjoying the... More

Don't let the TripAdvisor info fool you, this is nowhere near Lago Vista unless you are traveling by boat. It is closer to 71 and 620, and located in Spicewood. That said, the park has great views of the lake from cliffside campsites, and nice hiking trails. I was also surprised to find a bike repair station at the trailhead... More

Get ready for a stellar 2016 spring wildflower season. Here is your first look at the bluebonnet crop! The plants are thick in a large carpet. Bring out your supervised pets and your walking shoes for a great hike.

We camped here October 16-18 while we were in Austin for my graduation. There are only 20 improved campsites, but we reserved 2 sites in advance and were able to get our 2 sites together and on the outside of the ring. They were large and pretty private. The only showers and flushable toilets in the park are located at... More
