Austin TX is a fun city with lots of dining and entertainment options. The most rewarding (for me at least) is Hippie Hollow on Lake Travis. I visited in June of 2018 and the experience was terrific all around. Where else can you combine tanning,...More

Accidentally stumbled on this clothing optional beach on Lake Travis. It’s 18 yrs and older. They ID. We didn’t go nude, but still felt welcome. Most people are cool, but there are some creepy guys there. Beware of the hike to the beach. You need tennis...More

Had a good time here at Hippie Hollow this past weekend. Our only regret is that we used spray on sunscreen, and apparently didn't cover ourselves well enough as we got sunburned, but hey, we'll know better the next time. Getting down to the water...More

In a random decision, a small group of friends and I decided to cool off. Because it was spontaneous, we didn't have everything too thought out so Hippie Hollow worked out pretty good. The water was perfect, people were clothed and nude... Good balance of...More

Loved going to the Hollow all around. The ranger who took our $15 entrance fee was very informative and courteous about the clothing optional rules and included other helpful ideas to utilize the park. Beautiful hot day, the lake was low but still clear and...More

Beautiful nude “beach”. It was a great experience and I was comfortable being in the buff after I realized there wasn’t any creepers out. I think that would honestly vary by the day. It’s different compared to the other parks along lake Travis. When we...More

Hippie Hollow has been talked about for more than fifty years, yet a great many people have failed to investigate its delights. This may be because it is essentially the ONLY NUDIST Beach in Texas. Yes, here beneath the glare of the Texas sun, you...More

I never miss a chance to visit the hippie hollow. The place is beautiful and no worries if you forgot your bathing suit, you don't need one here. Yes it's clothing optional! Nothing like a nice swim naked!

It seems most parks along the lake are fee per use, $10-15. I didn't see that mentioned in reviews. The road along the lake doesn't have much view. The only place where you can lake view is vacation rental, B&B, or Oasis restaurant. Kind of...More

You will have to Uber. no bus goes that far up. you can take a bus all the way to 620 & 183 intersection. but afterwards you will have to use a TNC.

Clothing Optional in Austin (1 Reply)
Hi there, my boyfriend and I are taking a trip to Austin in November and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any clothing-optional hotels / B&Bs / resorts / hot springs / etc? I know about Hippie Hollow, but it might be too cold for swimming at that time, right? Thanks so much!

I have no personal experience or knowledge of any of the above, but I think it would be too cold to swim at Hippy Hollow for most of November. Early in the month we still have warm afternoons, but I don't think it's swimming weather.
