This only costs you a donation which goes toward upkeep and trying to get second floor open. The museum is quite small but stuffed with items and photos. The bank still has the teller windows and vault in place. If you are interested in Bonnie and Clyde stop in. They made a visit too !

The town of Krum is located about six miles from the City of Denton to the Northwest. in downtown Krum is a newly established museum know as the KRUM HERITAGE MUSEUM. The day we visited there was no charge. The museum is inside a former bank building which had been vacated. The original bank teller’s cage is till in pale and you can walk in and around that cage. in the back is the original vault and the individual offices of the old bank have been turned into theme areas such as one for education and one for military. A large old bell that was outside is now inside the museum. There is a telephone switch board from one of the former hotels in town. The person that gave us a tour was very knowledgeable about the town and was most congenial. The second floor was still under renovation so we did not tour that section. Plenty of free parking on the street and did i mention no charge to enter.

My family were business people in Krum. It was fun for me to see signs and other treasures from their hay days. My mother had a beauty shop there. My grandfather had the drug store. My uncle ran the bank. It is a great walk back in time don't miss it!

It's not a big place but worth a stop. The building is the original Farmers & Merchants Bank building,a real brick and plaster building, rare for this part of the world. The people that work there are lifelong residents, know the town well. There are hometown restaurants a few feet away & it's a friendly little town.

This free admission museum is tiny but between the staff and the artifacts, visitors walk away after an hour with a local feel of small town north Texas. What's not to love! Also stop by the great Western consignment shop (Loco Gringo) in the same strip. Helpful staff and a high likelihood of 20% off whatever you happen to be shopping for at the discretion of the owner. Free parking.
