We started at the Henrietta Museum in town (we thought that was where we picked up the tour) and we were told that we needed to go to the Ranch itself, but that it was only a few minutes away. The nice lady at the museum called to have them hold spots for us on the next tour because we... More

We were riding through with our guest (writer for HOG magazine) and we just had to made a stop to see the ranch. Even though we arrived to late to go on the tour we had a great time looking around at the visitors center. It's a shame that so many people just don't get the opportunity to see and... More

I was with a Garden Club from another TX city. One of our group leaders misunderstood the directions to the ranch. The people at the King Ranch graciously held our tour bus until we could get there. We did no have the super experienced driver "LOLO" but we had a good stand in who was very entertaining and knowledgeable. We... More

If you have never been to a working cattle/horse ranch, this is a nice place to visit. The bus tour is 1 hour. You are being driven around the ranch in a big loop while listening to the history of the ranch. I have never been to a ranch, so some parts of it interest me. I found the brief... More

Visited Kings Ranch took the tour it was great. Tho I'm sure it's not always possible on every tour, on this particular tour we were able to view: javelina hogs, wild turkey, alligators, deer, Hawks, multiple types of indigenous birds, as well as the ranch bred long horns, brood quarter horse mares, and the Gertrude's bulls and hefiers. We were... More

Was excited about visiting this place but quite disappointed because we didn't get to see that many cows except for couple dozens of longhorns. Thought I would be seeing some real ranching activities going on but saw none. But definitely learned something about Texas in general.

As for the negative reviews, read the summary, and know what you are signing up for. The general tour is a great overview of the ranch operations, and I felt the 1.5 hours went by really fast. Our guide pointed out several bird species as well as give us the history of the ranch and the buildings we passed. We... More

Had read the other reviews on trip advisor and thought we would venture here. The 1/2 hour movie is informative. Thought we would see more of the working ranch on the almost 2 hour tour. Drove by the arena that hasn't been used in many years. Saw various cattle and horses and some deer. Highlight was driving by the home... More

Guides are encouraged to provide a variety of activity sheets and checklists for wildlife for children on our ranch tours. Were those provided for the kids in your group? The arena is actually used on a regular basis. This month, the cowboys will take their 10 point test with quarter horses they have been training for the last year in... More

We took a private tour and it was very disappointing. We saw some cows, some birds, and some javelina. This is no different than you would see on the regular tour at considerably less expense. We learned nothing one couldn't learn from the wikipedia page.

Those who take a private tour have the opportunity to go out beyond the daily tour route and onto the caliche back roads, through several bump gates, go to the farm, feed mill area and get out of the vehicle at our horse memorial, quarter horse training arena or at other areas of interest. Please tell us more about what... More
