I have visited mostly highway sections and attractions of the Marble Falls/Kingsland/Llano areas all my life, and this is the first time hearing about The Slab. From the photos, it looks like most creek beds in dry times, but this must be a huge one. Can someone explain if it's right in Kingsland? We were near Kingsland this weekend, in... More

great spot to listen to the flowing river and to take the kids and pets. Be careful here for snakes though. certain times of the year the snakes are seen. Love the slab for sunbathing and laying in the flowing Llano river.

Fun place to play in the water & sandy areas on a sunny day. Issue with people leaving their trash behind.

This is a fun summer place to go and play in the cool flowing water, sand and granite rocks. Great place to enjoy the outdoors and spend the day with friends or family. The only negative is the inconsiderate slobs that leave their trash behind.

The first time I went to the Slab, the water was rushing over it so fast it was impossible to drive through! There were cars every where and the place was packed! A month later, the road was again open to traffic, parking is along side where ever a spot can be found. Swimming holes near the road are relatively... More

Very pretty hill country spot. It's really a shame people don't seem to pick up after themselves there.

The slab is a great place to hike around and explore the many rock formations and colors along with the different pools/streams of water. It's best to get there early especially if you have small children. It's cooler and much calmer(less people)at that time. There is a small trail on the east side of the slab that you can hike... We recently took our grandkids to the Slab even though we've lived in the area for over 8 years. They LOVED it! Bring your lawn chairs and cooler and you're good to go. Granted it's a FREE visit and sometimes that brings a variety of folks but they is plenty of places to park and wade. Just a fun afternoon.

We will definitely be returning next spring. Flowers were in full bloom. Water was perfect. Not too crowded. Out of the way with plenty of space to enjoy your privacy.
