Pack a thermos full of hot coco and make time to see the beauty during the celebration of Christmas downtown Kilgore. Especially the lighting of the oil derricks. Don't forget your camera plus they're other neat little places downtown to grab a snack or just...More

Lots of shops and restaurants. The real attraction is all the derricks. It’s dubbed the world’s richest acre. With all of these wells it’s no wonder. Definitely worth a stop.

The city has went to great lengths in recent years to bring vitality back to downtown Kilgore. It has worked. It is very pretty and usually at least a couple of times a month, there is something going on.

Strolling through downtown Kilgore is easy fun. The Million dollar acre of oil wells and derricks, the Oil Museum and some of the older city building still retain their historical charm.

The main atraction downtown is the park across from the old train station it's highlight I'd a monument to the richest acre. It has alot of oil derecks which are lit for the Christmas season with a little ceremony and fair.
