Nice place to rest and read a book

This is a very quiet downtown park. Nice view overlooking the valley. Good restairants and shopping in this historic area.

A good place to take a walk and get away from the traffic and noise. Several trails on the west side of the park with various levels of difficulty. They can be combined for a good five mile hike or you can stay on the pavement for about a 2 mile walk.

We stayed on the non river side - close to the clean restroom/shower facilities and because of all the trees (not too low hit the trailers) there was a nice shade and you felt like you were camping because there was plenty of room between sites how they are set up! We will be back this spring! Lots of great... More

Clean park with great trails. Highly recommend this park for camping as well! Good cabins! I have been here several times and each time it was a pleasant experience. Beautiful when the leaves are changing. There is a wide variety of trails to choose from and the park staff is always very nice and accommodating.

We took a walk around the park today after hitting up a couple antique stores. Beautiful views. Quiet. Clean. Nice relaxing way to spend a little time outdoors.

I've been going to this park 2-5 days a week for the past year or so. The annual day pass is one of the hidden bargains in Kerrville--just $25! My day usually consists of starting on one of the hiking trails; there are several crossovers, also. The trails run from easy to difficult. The Orange Trail (difficult) leads to an... More

Very impressed with this park. This Park was once a state park and is now run by the city of Kerrville. Park is split by the Bandera Highway. Part of the park is on the north side of the highway and part of the park is on the south side of the highway. the north side of the park is... More

My wife and I camped at Scheiner Park recently and had a great time. Camping sites are very nice. We enjoyed taking some of the hiking trails and rented kayaks, paddled around on the Guadalupe River. There was some highway noise at campsites, but overall was very relaxing trip!

It's okay but during the summer months you'd have to get there super early to get your "piece" of the "beach" to bbq or just pitch a tent or your beach towel for your family. The beach area is not very big so think twice if it is late in the day or morning.

This park used to be owned by the state . A few years ago the city bought it. Nothing much has really changed. It is a great place for overnight camping, from primitive sites to cabins . It is also great for just a day trip, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, bird watching and just communing with nature, family and friends. A... More
