What a wonderful, clean, and fun place to be. There’s so much to do here. Great for family with kids especially teenagers. Entertainment in the plaza. Restaurants, shops, and so much more. All in one place. Can’t wait to go back

Kemah Boardwalk was a nice small location on the Boardwalk with Big Attractions Rides and Great Food as Well. This is a Great Place for All Ages from 1 Year Old to 50 years Old. Get there early and enjoy the fun.
So, this is a great place for families. You will need to save money by finding a free parking all around the center cash parking lot - drop your family off and drive around to find parking.
Tickets/passes - they have two locations you can...More
We spent about four hours at the boardwalk. With the Houston Fun Pass you get a wrist band that allows you to ride all rides as many times as you want. The staff was courteous and helpful even though the weather was not the best...More
Visited on a Saturday, late morning into early afternoon... not too many places open, no street performers, not much to see or do. Was disappointed because of other reviews saying what a great place it was, etc, etc. It was slightly misty, but not really...More
We visited with family & friends- all adults.
It’s all owned by the Landry Co and it’s very Disney-Ish with their themes and cute train that circles the property.
The restaurants are all good and there was live music during the day for the Christmas...More

Kemah boardwalk is a great option for family with young children, older kids and teens. Although I never liked their employees. It seems like being rude, hate your work and kids are standard to hire at this place. Anyways, there are many attractions for kids...More

Salt Grass does have a gluten free menu that is decent in size, but do plan to have steak and potato - that is the basis of the options in the restaurant. If you go off season or when the restaurant is busy, ask for a server who is comfortable with dietary restrictions as I've had good and bad experiences depending on who you get.
Hotel Recommendations Battleship Texas/NASA/Kemah Boardwalk (4 Replies)
We are headed to Houston this weekend and I am looking for some recommendations for hotels that are somewhere near Battleship Texas, NASA Space Center and the Kemah Boardwalk. Somewhere in the middle would be nice. I would like something that is no more than $60 a night but is decent enough to offer internet access. any help would be appreciated since I am not that familiar with Houston. Basically just looking for something in a safe area. thanks Mark

There are several motels in the Clear Lake area. CL is close to all the places that you plan to visit and pretty safe. I don't know the rates. Stay away from the Hobby airport area (North of CL).
Kemah Boardwalk “open” but not the rides (1 Replies)
We saw many sad kids at the boardwalk yesterday morning. Spent Monday night at the Kemah Boardwalk Inn, planning to have fun yesterday before our daughter’s medical appointment Tuesday afternoon. When we showed up yesterday morning to buy tickets, nine rides where closed. That is more than half the rides (perhaps more than two-thirds Since Kemah is pretty small) and, worse, it was all the rides our six year-old daughter could go on. To make matters worse, we had asked at the hotel...More

I was there last Friday and all but 2 rides were open. But, I agree that this "boardwalk" is over-rated and over-priced. Lots of people love it though, maybe because it the closest thing to an amusement park the Houston area has, since Astroworld closed.
Houston trip with little bros! (2 Replies)
So, I want to take my brothers (15 & 12) to Houston in a week or 2. I've been many times, but this will be their first. Family is giving them some money, but I will be paying for food, hotel, and myself. I'm in college and have to watch my spending! So with that being said: Where's some good and CHEAP places to take 2 teens in Houston? Already have Kemah Boardwalk in mind.

You could also look into taking them to water parks, like Schlitterbahn in Galveston or Splashtown.
