Excellent place to come relax and picnic. You don't have to be an aviation geek to enjoy some relaxation time by the airport. Saw families bring a blanket and sit on the floor with their kids. Plus it's free! Airport police comes by often to...More
I've been in the airline industry 40 years but I never tire of watching those beautiful metal birds scream in or out of DFW. Bring the kids, bring the puppies (just pick up the poopie!)and enjoy. Best times if the airport is landing north-to-south: 11a-1p...More
I've flown in and out of DFW for decades and never knew this was here. It's a great spot to watch planes come and go and there is even a speaker broadcasting the tower communications! Nice benches, shade and a great little sculpture of children...More
There aren't too many places that you can park your car around the airport and watch planes but you can here. Founder's Plaza has plenty of parking and history to read about. I checked it out one day around noon and saw lots of people...More

Cool place to see what matter most celebrated properly. The attention to detail is grand. Watch our mightiest jets roar in and out as you read about our founders and branches of the service that have graced DFW airport and the thousands of traveling military...More

In general, if the winds are out of the south (blowing from the south to the north), planes will be landing near the viewing area on 18R. If it is a light travel day, take offs and landings will be slow. The best times for viewing are in the morning and afternoons. That's when air traffic is heaviest.
