Great experience

My husband grew up in a small town and had never seen a plane up close. This was a great experience for him. And listening to aircraft control was awsome

This was a great way to past the time as we waited for a family members flight to arrive . It's really close to the north entrance terminal A of the airport and only took us minutes to enter into the airport . The kids loved running around and listening to the recording of the air traffic controllers ! Next... More

As other reviews indicate, the site is free and is a great place to watch aircraft movements at DFW. If you are a diehard aircraft spotter and want good pictures, the best time is in the early afternoon as the heavies from Europe come in as well as the Qantas A380. The key to the best experience literally depends on... More

I am kind of disappointed with the plaza because they removed the big map of the airport and some other features. It is still a nice place to come and observe airplanes landing and taking off.

My husband was a Marine pilot in Vietnam and continues to be very interested in anything aviation so he enjoyed this side stop much more than me. However, I did find it interesting.

If you're a keen aviation geek or just like a nice place to rest and relax this is the place to come. Plenty of shade and water available on site. Large grassy areas surround the plaza for kids and families. As a true aviation geek flying from Australia to get a glimpse of DFW this certainly was a great experience... More

This has got to be the best place to watch aircraft anywhere in the country! Not only is the plaza situated close to the end of a main runway, but DFW is super busy so the planes never stop taking off and landing. Audio of air traffic control is played throughout the plaza, which adds to the experience. Plus, it's... More

This is a nice little rest stop and the north end of DFW airport. It has benches and tables where you can sit and enjoy the view, along with a grassy area if you want to spread a blanket for plane watching or a picnic. The speakers allow you to listen in on the radio traffic from the planes and... More

For many years I was living in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and this was the one spot ,that you could take a meal(KFC) and just watch the planes go by! I really missed the "Original" location before they moved it after 911. I have not seen an airport have anything like it anywhere else too? Historic, memories, chillin' time site. I will... More

Our son brought us to the observation area while we were visiting the DFW area. It was a beautiful day and a bit windy. There are lots of places to sit while watching the planes land and take-off. It was really fun for us to see the different planes in a nice little park setting specifically for that purpose. There... More
