The sculpture garden is nice
Mar 2021
We stopped here to see the sculpture garden. While it was small and did not have many pieces, it is very well done. Worth a stop. A nice use of water and reflections.

The Mikado was Great!
Feb 2020
Recent performance of the the Mikado was very good considering it was students. It was a lot of fun. We’re fans of Gilbert & Sullivan, but most people in the US are not familiar with their works.

Go inside to view the beautiful art exhibits while waiting for your concern or play to begin. Wander outside to see the fountains and beautiful sculpture works on the grounds. Many programs for both adults and children, also for talented and not so talented. Beautiful facility with lots of parking.

Great performance space!
Jun 2019 • Business
This is the second year in a row we've attended a conference held at the Irving Arts Center, and we were very pleased with the facility. There were plenty of rooms available for workshops, as well as multiple dressing rooms and green rooms, a beautiful professional stage, comfortable audience seating, and convenient load-in, load-out area!

Ravens rift (the play)

A basic two act play concerning a mystery of the deaths of two men!
We attended the Sunday matinee which, by the way, was well attended by the senior population of the area. A few younger people were there, everyone seemed to enjoy the entire production.
Also in the lobby area was a showing of art works by a children’s book artist. This was extremely interesting, as they had a few of the books with the covers matching the original art works.
Returning to the play, the stage and audience area is small, so you have a good view no matter where your seating may be.

The play was very well done, but the second act seemed disjointed from the first act; as if the author was not sure where to go with the characters, the ending seemed contrived as a matter of fact!

This does not take away from the acting however, as each and every actor was very good, expressive and believable!

Jessica Peterson as the young daughter was especially good, as was the Inspector-Geoff Leonard-Robinson. This is not saying the others weren’t, just that these two seemed to be liked by the audience the best!

The director did a great job at staging this play, and it would be worth anyone’s time and money to attend.

Good facilities, great sound system, poorly angled lights
Aug 2018 • Family
We went to a dance performance here. Excellent facilities and sound system. I do sound engineering so I have some idea. Lighting however is down from a steep angle and causes dark shadows under the brows. They should really install horizontal light sources with good LED lights as fillers.

Visited to see the Route 66 exhibition and also saw exhibitions of locally made quilts and of Oriental style paintings. Pleasant gallery, good space.

Sculpture garden is great
Mar 2018 • Solo
I was in Irving only one day. I went to arts center first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, it is too early and it is not open yet. I really enjoyed everything in the garden. See pictures

Nice Place
Jun 2017 • Couples
We saw Pure Country here. The facility is very nice, but the show was a let down. My rating is based upon the theatre itself and not the show.
