We thoroughly our gondola ride with Gondola Adventures. Our gondolier was excellent. We offered to take pictures for us and was very knowledgeable about his position and with other questions that we had on the tour. A word of advice to anyone looking to book is that we booked our tour for 6:30 pm. I would recommend a tour later in the evening as it would've been more romantic in the dark with the candle light they provided. Finally, on the day that we initially booked our tour I was traveling to Irving from San Antonio on Greyhound bus when the bus cause a flat tire. We were stuck just outside of San Antonio for several hours. I called the company 30 minutes after the bus went down. I explained my situation and let them know that I wasn't sure when the bus would be operational again. They asked that I kept them updated on the situation. I made a call to the company after every update from the bus driver. Once we got a final estimated arrival time into Irving I informed the gondola company. They rescheduled my tour but I had to pay a rescheduling fee. I understand they have policies in place but I couldn't make it at no fault of my own. Greyhound was willing to explain in writing of the mishap. I do however appreciate the gondola company reducing the rescheduling fee but it would've been extremely nice if it could've been waived altogether.

Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and taken right to our gondola. Everyone was nice and made sure to say hello.

Our gondola rower was very helpful and attentive before we went out in the lake. He made sure to let us know some history as well as sang beautifully.

My wife enjoyed it very much. The only thing I think she didn’t care for was the amount of attention that’s brought on you during the experience. This place is surrounded by condos/apartments. She was uneasy about so many eyes on us as we were trying to eat and enjoy the ride. We were photoed/videoed by many of the people that live there and were out by the water. They meant well but some people don’t like this. Just a heads up on this in case you do kind. Had unknown this beforehand I wouldn’t have chose to put her through that.

Only other negative was they forgot the rose I paid for. I really didn’t notice till the end when my wife mentioned how another lady received one. At that point we were on the way to our Uber and I didn’t want to gonna into bring it up. That’s kind of my fault as well for not remembering.

Overall, if you are looking for a special and romantic brats night then I would say go for it! I doubt there’s any other experience like this one.

We did a one hour gondola ride on May 23, and had a five-star experience end to end. Pedro was a gentleman, total sweetheart, and his guitar playing and singing is what made the whole experience extra special. We highly recommend this as a perfect experience for romantic evening, or if you need a relaxing getaway from the day-to-day grind. It doesn’t feel like you’re in Dallas or Texas for the brief moment you are out on the water going through the beautiful views of the canal and surrounding areas.

I was taken here as a surprise date which turned into an engagement! It’s easy to find and easy to park in the garage. If you have never been in the area or around the river walk, you’ll be shocked at the cute canals and peace and quiet in the middle of a city. Jimmy was our guide and unbeknownst to me, had been working with my fiancé for weeks on how to pull off the perfect proposal! Jimmy is kind, funny, and one heck of a singer! We were informed later that the company can accommodate parties as large as 12. They have several options, food cruises, BYOB, shaded gondolas, etc.

We had a wonderful time on the Gondola. It was a relaxing and peaceful evening for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We had sparkling apple cider, chocolates, 1/2 a dozen roses, and a souvenir Gondola blanket. Our Gondolier did an amazing job. He sang songs that my husband and I both liked with his guitar. It was neat to see the entire canal area from the Gondola. It was a pretty night for the sunset cruise. We had a great time and would consider doing this again in the future.

This was one of the most unique and amazing experiences I've had in all of DFW! My fiancé and I absolutely loved the tranquility, peace, and beautiful sunset scene! A HUGE plus and shout out to Jimmy, our gondola rower - He went above and beyond! Sang us a few songs (he's an amazing singer), and played us some of his guitar. He truly made this experience 100x better than we expected! When we are back, we will definitely be requesting him. It was all so wonderful!!

My boyfriend surprised me with this romantic gondola ride. PLEASE ask for Jimmy!! He serenaded us for an hour and he has the most beautiful voice. He was the best. People passing by wished they were on our boat ride. Get the message in the bottle, it just tops the experience off. It's really romantic in the evening as the sun is setting. I would definitely recommend this!

Ask for Pedro. Great conversation and you can tell he really enjoys what he does. Excellent playlist on radio, and we loved his voice and guitar. We learned alot about the area even though are local in DFW. Breakfast order seemed to get lost at the restaurant but tour guide had it. Glitch needs to be fixed. Got the wrong bagel but everything else was correct and well presented. Worth the money for a special event but pricey for more regular trips.

What a fantastic experience. My husband took me for our anniversary and it was such a surprise. I never even knew that place was there and I had worked 15 mins away for years. The food was good and plenty of it. We had many photo opportunities. And it was just a fun evening the whole way around.

My challenge: Plan a date night in advance of our trip to Texas and keep it a surprise. I had saw the gondola rides mentioned in the Omni website as I booked the room for our vacation and it seemed like a perfect plan for a romantic night. I booked it for 7:45 to avoid the extreme heat yet still have some daylight left to enjoy the sights. After booking the ride online, I was contacted by Anne in their California office the next day to run through the details (that it was a surprise, that the cruise option chosen included chocolates and sparkling cider, that I had requested a rose, etc.) and confirm the logistics of meeting our gondolier (our gondolier was John, warm, friendly guy with a Texas accent who surprised us with his singing voice). The plan was to walk out the garden-level door at Trevi's restaurant and stroll to the dock, where our gondolier would meet us. The surprise worked out perfectly and we enjoyed an hour-long ride around the lake with quiet music playing and occasional serenading from John. And just as I has been told in Venice, kissing was encouraged as we passed under bridges. Other things had brought us to Texas, but for me, the thing I always will remember is the wonderfully happy look on my love's face as she glided around the lake. A most excellent date idea.
