A nice little oasis in the concrete jungle

Great experience for someone looking for something both different to do as well as romantic. A touch of Venice in Texas.

Got curious about the Mandalay Canal which purportedly was reminiscent of Venice with the Gondola boat ride and all. It did remind me of Venice minus the smell of the canal and the crowded tourist. This canal by Las Colinas Blvd is so quiet, peaceful and clean. We started at the middle of the canal by the Venetian Terrace and... More

This canal is prettier than I expected; especially at sunset whether you're just walking around it or taking a gondola ride. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it unless you're already going to be in Las Colinas but it's a nice little diversion.

I loved the atmosphere of the canal but I wish it was well lit at night. My husband and I walked it one night and turned around because it was very dark. We haven't rode on the gondola yet so I look forward to that.

In town for a visit and I stumbled across this place at sunset. Made me fall in love with Dallas! I was just going to go for a short walk and ended up walking through the entire canal and then around the lake!

I remember going here many years ago, renting a gondola and enjoying a ride around Lake Carolyn. Now the odor from the water, sewerage I believe, is so bad you can't stay in the gondola. The water is a black/greenish color. It is said because years ago it was a fun thing to do with your kids.

One of the most beautiful places to visit in the Dallas Area. It is a meandering walk around most of Lake Carolyn and if you follow the canals the go in and among the buildings. On one end you can find a little waterfall. On the fourth of July you can see the fireworks on the lake. It is near... More

I walk this canal every two days. The path is kept very clean and you can access a few restaurants and stores along the path.
