When visiting Fredericksburg, Texas, in the beautiful hill country, take the time to make the short drive, up the road apiece, just beyond Stonewall, TX, to Hye, TX; and turn South on Hye-Albert Road a couple of miles. The tour of the distillery is certainly...More

Although I'm not a hard liquor drinker, I thoroughly enjoyed learning about Bourbon & even tasting it in the different stages. We took the tour with our adult children & everyone enjoyed it. The property is lovely with oaks & rolling hills... Very reminiscent of...More

It was not a sit and sip and involves lots of climbing and walking. I had friends with mobility problems that were blindsided. Not enough room in gift shop to have shopping and a tasting bar in same place

I wouldn’t bring kids on the tour. They will be bored (they can’t do any tastings) and they probably won’t like the smell. The grounds by the gift shop has a swing and horseshoes they can play.

I still need some more advice. From San Antonio Day 3 Want to visit the Enchanted Rock (first thing )and the Garrison Brothers Distillery(around 2 o'clock) - Hopefully they are close by each other. Could you please give us driving directions and if this would be possible to do. Where to eat lunch I appreciate all your advice

Garrison Brothers Distillery is about 45 minutes to an hour from Enchanted Rock. If you go to Enchanted Rock early and do some hiking, you can go back into Fredericksburg for lunch, and then just take 290 east out of town to Hye, turn right on Hye Albert Rd. and the distillery will be on your left a couple of miles down.
