Good Vis for a Lake

Blue Lagoon is an excellent place to go for divers looking to complete training and brush up on skills. The visibility is awesome compared to other Texas Lakes, but definitely... read more

This is PADI first and foremost, so yes, be prepared to be turned away. I have been lucky enough to get in twice as a non diver. Everyone has always been so nice. Get there early and you won't have any problems. Please have consideration for others as not everyone wants to hear your loud music at 10 o'clock in... More

Spent the weekend at The Blue Lagoon diving with my husband. Great place to go to get a few dives before a big trip or to break in some new equipment. Visibility is better in morning before all the dirt is stirred up. Making reservations is highly recommended. Each site is large and able to accommodate very large groups. All... More

Primarily a diving facility, but swimmers are accommodated after 11am on weekends. There are 2 x small Spring fed lakes to choose from (old quarry pits) in this very picturesque location where you can back your car near to the waters edge for easy entry and exit. Visibility varies, but can be 10-15 feet on a good day. Can also... More

Let's get something straight here, this is not a natural resource it was once a quarry. I don't know what the deal is with all of the non-divers complaining about not being able to get in or not being allowed to just swim. That's like complaining that you can't walk into your local dive shop and use their pool to... More

Blue Lagoon is an excellent place to go for divers looking to complete training and brush up on skills. The visibility is awesome compared to other Texas Lakes, but definitely don't come here expecting to have a deep dive or see a bunch of stuff. The water is alkaline (I'm guessing as a result of the surrounding geography and the... More

It was just me and my girlfriend, diving! It was fantastic! Was uncomfortable, there were a car load of young people. They just came to swim, made me uncomfortable. To close, nervous leaving my belongings. We went diving and kept coming up to keep an eye on them.

The reviews complaining about not being allowed to swim only are off base. The place is a dive training facility first not a swimming hole. It has to be kept that way or will drive off the divers. The history of dive training places who let their lakes become swimming holes is not good. When the Reef was open in... More

This place has two lagoons, I was only in lagoon 2. It is a great place for beginners and classes several platforms and a few underwater sights to see. The deepest I hit was 25 feet. The vis the day I was there was only around 10' but there had recently been a lot of rain and there was a... More

The blue lagoon is not only well thought but also convenient for getting a few dives in and have a nice family day, no need to haul tanks since they have their own fill station and if you want to get more experience you can even advance your dive education there, thanks to Phil and sharla and all the crew... This is a for profit place. The owner said they do not let people in to just drive around. If you only want to see this place it will cost you 20.00 a person to get in during the week if you can get in at all. We were turned away. Diver friendly, mostly. If you hit the right time... More
