Huntsville State Park is our favorite state park in Texas especially in the fall! Trees are beautiful, sights in the park are great and it is very well maintained! You have to make reservations far ahead of time. Lovely!!

Great park. Trails well marked, clear and drain well. Been a lot of rain in that area the past few weeks and no puddles at all.

Galveston or Huntsville state park - options for 4th July (2 Replies)
Hey We recently moved to Houston and planning a day long trip for 4th July. Which of the places would you suggest given the current weather - Galveston or Huntsville State park. I have a 5 month old baby, so being a lil cautious :) Thanks Annie

I think it depends on what you want to do. Galveston will be in high 80's, but ocean breeze most places. There is a parade at 7:30pm followed by fireworks at 9:15. I expect a lot of people there, but I enjoy the crowds.
