It is cheaper than most golf courses and it's short. It's a little difficult considering the ducks that share the waters with our balls :-)

Challenging short course

We play Heron Lakes often and have for several years. They have made vast improvements on the course in the last year but it could use some more. The greens are much better than since they installed better drainage. The underbrush has been cleared so finding your ball is no longer a problem.. The course is short by anyone's standards that makes the game that much more fun. Could they do better? YES, of course. L

For the price of a round of golf, this is an awesome course.

Hadn't played here in over 2 years and decided to give it one more chance. I was pleasantly surprised, the course is great and greens are awesome. Fairways are in great shape and lakes are clean and balls can be easily found. I will be returning and bringing my friends.

In need of attention

I have to say that I have played golf on a lot of course and this is the shortest and the most difficult. I think that if you hit the 150m max and straight it is probably ok, but beware those wayward drivers, 2 feet off the fairway and you are in swamp or impenetrable shrubbery. In Houston it rains. At Heron Lakes there are no drains. The fairways are mud, a few grass leaves and water. The greens are thick and slow so be prepared to take out the driver from 10 ft away from the hole.
It is by far the cheapest golf course in Houston, but you will lose so many balls that it is cheaper to pay more than twice the amount they charge at Heron Lakes. Try Houston National instead.
