Our first time at Pete's coincided with my (insert a big number here) birthday. The large group we were with got the 2 piano players to call me to the front...I think the $20 tip from my pal helped. Nevertheless, I was asked to sit ON the piano and they proceeded to have every man in the bar gather round at my feet and serenade me with the song "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". It was a Kelly-McGillis-Top-Gun moment. Our large group were whooping and hollering and my husband was filming. I will remember that loving feeling forever. (Sidenote: The bar has the huge words 'SING LOUD' in lights. The teacher in me wanted so badly to let them know it should be 'loudly', an adverb.)

Wife & I ended our evening at Pete’s & we had a blast. Continuous throwback music throughout the evening, great playlist, & lots of laughs. Can get a little busy in there so you might wait a bit for a drink. But lucky for us we had already had plenty at the ball game previously.

$10 cover for the equivalent of a 5 hour concert - pretty good deal. This show can get extremely rowdy and performances veer into the vulgar - this seems to be standard at most piano and comedy bars.
The crowd when we visited was of an older demographic (3/4 of the crowd seemed to be 40's and up) and there seemed to be many visitors from out of town (I say this because many folks did not seem to get the musicians' local references and jokes). The venue is an ideal place for visitors to spend an evening because it is centrally located downtown; starts early and goes late, and the acts are highly entertaining. We rolled in at 830pm and there were already lots of people seated. The musicians are top-notch, no doubt. They play all sorts of songs and the chance of your request being played is largely tip-influenced. 90's music, 80's music, old time show songs, rap, modern, latin, country, everything. Drinks are expensive.
Ultimately, I prefer the Howl at the Moon piano bar in Midtown since the crowd there is younger and more local - ie., people actually know the fight songs of the big southern schools such as UT, A&M, LSU, Baylor, UH, etc., which the crowd at Pete's did not! But Howl at the Moon starts late and doesn't usually get packed till after 10pm.

Well, it started out fine (except for the fact that we didn't know you need to reserve tables way in advance)...anyway, we were told that we needed to SING and it was explained how the bar works--well as the night went on the language/act got more and more vulgar and hardly anyone was singing because the songs (when they happened) were not piano-bar songs (as we were told by the performers that they would favor piano-bar sing-a-long songs--instead a bunch of rap and weird songs were played...people started to leave--it was awful!)

This place is a blast. My fiance, whom is not into anything out of his comfort zone, LOVED Pete's. He was having a blast the whole time and enjoyed seeing the pianist changing up their tune to each song. The drinks are awesome and everyone is having the best time. There are no strangers here! Best place for a fun bachelorette or birthday party! GO GO GO GO

We came here after dinner with a large group. We were able to choose our tables and sat up towards the front. Our waitress for the night never stopped moving and I never had an empty drink all night! The show began at 8 and did not disappoint. You were able to make requests and they went through and gave a mix of music and comedy. They did a great job of including the crowd and we were laughing and singing all night!! Such a great time! Would definitely go again!
