We have been in Houston several times and have previously never seen the emergence of bat at dusk. This year, we happen to be in the area about dusk. The park is very popular and parking was at a premium. We found a parking spot...More

We've witnessed the Congress Street Bats in Austin and this one compares nicely! We sat near the "bat signs." Odor from bat guano should be expected as you are hanging out by their home. TIPS: Insect repellent is recommended...we are a Gulf Coast city and...More

If you go to Houston, it’s something that you can’t miss! With the sunset by your side and the bats coming out, is amazing, but the smell quite strong, besides that you will have a great time.

We arrived at the observation platform to watch the bats emerge from under the Waugh Drive Bridge on August 10th. About 50 people had gathered. Sure enough thousands of bats flew out just after sundown. It was very impressive. Unfortunately I don't know how many...More

This is definitely worth a trip into the city. Now the parking can be tricky, but we found a spot quickly (even on a Saturday night) in Sports Park. We arrived about 20 minutes before sunset and the bats had already started to leave from...More

Took an uber to address provide from the description in Google maps. Bats started to arrive as we were walking up about 25 minutes before sunset, but it was slightly overcast and fighting off inclement weather... very cool experience especially when you walk under the...More

This has been on our bucket list for a while and the experience did not disappoint. We are glad we went on a Friday in which they had a naturalist "bat chat." (Bat Chats are the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month.) The information...More
