I did a tour of the San Jacinto battle site and museum. If you like history - Keith Rosen is your man. Keith was a professor of history and you could hear his passion about the subject matter (he is incredibly bright and articulate - plus he really knows his stuff). He did an amazing job of holding my interest for several hours and filled in a ton of knowledge gaps that I had. What I was most impressed by is that I mentioned (when I was making arrangements for the tour) that I had just read a book about Sam Houston and Keith not only read the book in preparation for our visit but he prepared a ton of additional information to show me. Well worth the money!!! In fact, if I’m being completely honest - I don’t think he charged me enough for the value that he provided.

My group did the African American tour of the 3rd ward with a twist. If you are looking for a tour with a tour guide that is knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating look no further. Keith provided the best customer service! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He’s flexible and tweaked our tour to make sure we got the best experience, covered so much ground in such little time.

Keith did an amazing job. I purchased the tour as a fun thing to do on our anniversary. Although we have lived in Houston for a very long time, it turns out there was alot we did not know about our city. Keith shared a wealth of information about Houston's history in our 4 hour private tour and showed us many gem spots in Houston we were not even aware of. Had such a great time touring with him and will definitely recommend to all my friends and family.

Best first: I was impressed with Keith's flexibility with start times to accommodate the weather. The walking tour through Sam Houston Park was nice enough, but I cannot recommend the tunnel tours. There is nothing of interest down there, unless of course you find Airport terminals a thrill and salivate at corporate food courts. Keith has a lot of lively opinions to share, but he is not a true storyteller. If it's historic storytelling you're after, there might be a better choice. Maybe the ghost tours are worth the price?

I recently arranged two tours with Houston Historical tours for a group of elderly people visiting Houston for a Conference. Keith Rosen is the owner/operator of this company and he is a most disagreeable person. He is highly temperamental, short-tempered and difficult to work with. Instead of concerning himself with the comfort and enjoyment of his clients, he was very unpleasant to them and mean spirited. I would strongly recommend that you look elsewhere if you are interested in tours of Houston and environs.

Keith Rosen, owner of Historical Tours of Houston, gives personalized interesting and extremely detailed tour of Houston. HE promptly answered my phone query (from Pennsylvania) and via phone and emails, helped to craft the perfect,3 hour tour. DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY PRICE. He is not cheap but considering there is NO VIABLE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION in Houston to get you to anything, my tour cost of $115, including pick up and return to my hotel (in the Galleria area) was worth every cent. Keith is an extremely engaging, intelligent and accomodating tour guide. I have never spent money better. You will love him and love the tour.

I attended a bus tour of Jewish Houston conducted by Keith Rosen. While the information he presented was somewhat interesting, he rudely addressed the audience as if we were misbehaving children, "I'll wait until you are finished talking," "Some people are talking, when you are finished, I'll continue." He misstated assertions that were easily corrected.
Save your money!

As first time travelers to Texas, my group of friends and I wanted to get an overview of the city of Houston in the brief 2 days we had there. We couldn't have found a better way to do it. The web site listed, what I thought, was a slightly unrealistic list of a multitude of sites. However, in the 6 very worthwhile hours we had, Keith, our very capable tour guide, covered everything - and more. Early in the tour, our private party of 8 happened to express an interest in a particular ethnicity. Next thing we knew we were having an interesting cultural tour of that neighborhood. Keith captivated us with his wealth of knowledge with wit, efficiency and professionalism. We got a peek at some interesting things that, I imagine, are not included on most other tours. He stopped where it made sense to do so, or at our request for anything else. If you want a real flavor of Houston, or the many other places Keith offers, you won't get any better than Houston Historical Tours.

My husband and I recently visited Houston to see the Johnson Space Center (JSC) and are delighted to have selected Houston Historical Tours to help us get the most from our trip. Our booking included transportation from the airport to our chosen hotel on the day of arrival, transportation and a personal guided tour of JSC on the second day of our stay, and transportation back to the airport on the third day. Working with Keith Rosen to arrange this customized tour was easy and collegial.
On the day of arrival, Keith met us as planned. We just had to call him with a 15-minute notice, which we did upon our arrival at the airport's baggage claim. During the drive to our hotel, Keith was a font of information about the airport, Houston generally, various landmarks along our route, and several points of interest in the vicinity of our hotel. A professional tour operator and semi-retired college history professor, Keith's knowledge base is formidable.
On days two and three, we were guided by Vicki Clakley, who also is a professional tour guide/operator. Vicki picked us up on time on both days and, like Keith, was very knowledgeable over a broad range of topics. Much to our surprise, Vicki not only took us to the JSC and provided an intro, but actually spent the entire day with us, ushering us efficiently through each of the attractions that JSC has to offer, ensuring that we missed nothing of consequence. Perhaps even more impressive, Vicki went out of her way during the drive to and from JSC to show us some key landmarks (e.g. the Water Wall) that we otherwise would not have seen otherwise, nor even known about.
We can't speak highly enough about the services rendered by Keith and Vicki. Without a doubt, had we attempted this Houston visit strictly on our own, the result would have been far less comprehensive, informative and rewarding. They delivered every bit of what was promised, and more. We can recommend Houston Historical Tours unreservedly.
