This was a weirdly laid out mall, but that made it even more fun to walk around and explore. There was not a store brand name or type my family wanted that was not available and we had fun and spent hours walking around. Everything...More
I was there more than once when I visited Houston lately. Houston is short in terms of shopping option compared to other big cities in the US. However, There are three major malls and this is one will come in the 3rd rank. It has...More
The lower class has taken over this mall. People wearing slippers wander the mall, and kids with their jeans halfway down their backsides so you can view their underwear choice of the day are the rule rather than the exception.
Sadly, this is the closest...More
I got to the store around 5:00 pm on a Monday. The store was moderately busy, I got seen to fairly rapidly. But the salesperson acted like my 2 year old Ipad was from the Stone Ages, would not even look at, "it's slow because...More
We went early afternoon on Christmas Eve and to our surprise the mall wasn’t as packed as I initially thought. This was our first visit to this mall and we enjoyed ourselves. Our main objective was to find a Piercing Pagoda but they don’t have...More
There are some who snootily say "I only shop at the Woodlands Mall". Not me. Willowbrook Mall has everything and less walking. Maybe not quite as many restaurants in the area but there are plenty and even more if you go on up to the...More
I was advised by a friend that this area has become relatively "unsafe" in the past years. Originally, I was planning to stay there for the summer with my 2 kids, but now hesitate. Which part of Houston is safer nowadays? I grew up in the Champions area 30 years ago. Tt was very safe then, but I haven't been back for a dozen years already.

Hope you can help us a little bit. You said "stay there for the summer". So are you looking for a long term rental situation i.e. 2 months or more. Or is this a few days? What type of sights do you want to see if this is a vacation? Houston is huge and if we knew more, it would be so much easier to suggest an area. If this is vacation, what are the ages of the children. That helps too. Thanks in advance for your help.

How to get to NYC from Bushkill, PA (6 Replies)
Four Indiana rural living adults are traveling to Bushkill, PA. We are spending 1 day in New York City and seeing a Broadway play at the end of the day. Problem: How do we get from Bushkill, PA comfortably - and safely. None of us have experience driving in large metropolitan cities and I can't find any bus schedules that run after midnight. It was recommended to park at either Secaucus or Willowbrook Mall and take the bus but it doesn't appear there are any buses to take back to either area...More

my Houston itinerary - any changes I should make?? (27 Replies)
Well here are my plans for our 4 night stay beginning 2nd April. Does it sound ok or are there changes I should make, anything not to bother with it or anything I have left out? I will be travelling with my DH and 2 kids aged 14 and 12. Not into museums really, enjoy seeing sights, shopping, nice meals. We will have a car for our stay and don't mind driving. Saturday - Galveston, Moody Gardens, The Strand, Galleria in the evening Sunday - Lake Conroe, Woodland Mall/Market street, Old...More

Unless you have a specific reason to go to Galleria Sat eve, I would do Kemah on Sat eve and Galleria Mon eve (swap the two) as Kemah and Galveston is in the same general area as is Galleria and downtown. Plan to have dinner at Kemah. Also, add Willowbrook to Sunday as it is in the same vicinity as The Woodlands. That said, if you go to The Woodlands mall and Galleria Mall, you can skip Willowbrook (okay - totally skip it - not really worth it). Willowbrok and The Woodlands about the same -...More
