If you are into strolling, bike riding, rolleblading, or simply into taking pictures of skylines than this place is for you. Since its renovation there is more to do. There is an automated bike rental station nearby but its always empty or not enough bikes in it as its a popular place for bike riding.

Before visiting this memorial, visit the Houston Police Museum (1200 Travis), which will give you a better understanding of what the memorial means to the officers and families of the fallen officers. Parking at the memorial is very limited. It's best to park elsewhere along the bayou and take the hike and bike trails to the memorial. There isn't a... More

Tribute to police officers who laid their life for the city of Houston. Not a very well-known place and majority of Houston crowd probably would have driven by without knowing the significance. If you searching for a place to take a walk, running, or to sit and relax with a nice view of the skyline, You must be their to give... More

Within seeing/walking distance you can see the historic Glenwood Cemetery which is amazing in itself. What some people may not know is that the... More

This isn't the American memorial cemetery in Normandy. No doubt meaningful to families of officers but beyond that, a real waste. There are so so so many other places around Houston for meditation and reflection such as along the banks of the bayou that runs through parts of downtown Houston....beautiful....but this place....if you knew the history of violence systemically in... There are places that we go where we can reflect on why we are able to be free, safe, and secure. For example, Arlington Natl. Cemetery causes one to be thankful for the sacrifice many have made for our freedom. Here at the Police Memorial, one can read the many names of those who have sacrificed our lives so that... More
