I loved getting the historical background for an incredible city. It was perfect weather for a bike trip. We never felt rushed but covered an impressive amount over just under 3 hours. Having grown up in Houston but no longer living there, I loved learning more of the history of a city that will always be special to me.

My 15 year old son & I had a great tour with Elizabeth. Learned a lot about the history of the city and saw interesting landmarks I didn’t know existed. Great way to spend a couple of hours outdoors biking, seeing the sights & learning about the city too. Highly recommend.

I recently moved to Houston and this was a great way to learn about not only the history of this awesome city but to learn about new places to check out! I found it super interesting with the history and also a great way to exercise and meet new people! Our tour guide was great and knew his stuff! Everyone should check it out and take the tour!

I arranged to take the bike tour on the same morning I had arrived for a visit to Houston. I went on a Saturday tour of the downtown area led by Phil. It was a good trip, with informative comments. I'm glad to see that Houston has added attractive bike paths and public spaces downtown -- it was sorely needed. Love Phil's entrepreneurial spirit and his enlisting veterans of the US armed forces in this venture. Price seems about right. Tour was just over three hours, with about a 40-minute mid-tour break in Market Square. We went in mid-December, and the weather was sufficiently warm by our 11am start.

I took the tour of downtown and surrounding areas with Mia last weekend, and I'm really glad I did. She did a great job of introducing the city of Houston (go figure - it IS more than just an airport!) and shared a lot of historical and travel tidbits. And all this while seeing the city and getting an enjoyable workout as well! (For those who are not physically inclined, relax - the tour is not strenuous at all, and I proved to myself that riding a bike is indeed like riding a bike - you really never forget how to do it...).
A top-notch organization all the way around - from the communications when I made my reservation to meeting up with the group to an enjoyable and informative tour - very happy I chose Bayou City Bike Tours to introduce me to Houston, and I highly recommend them to visitors and locals alike who want a really unique experience in this interesting city.

Mia was an awesome tour guide. We biked at a very relaxing pace and the bikes were great for the amatuer cyclist - no gears and foot pedal brakes. An excellent way to spend a few hours and take in the city! I would recommned for friends, family couples

We had the best time cruising through the city on our 5 year anniversary! Loved the tour and Mia was a great guide. The bikes were super comfy for the 3 hour ride. We stopped for lunch in Market Square. Highly recommend for a fun couple activity or a first date! It was perfect! Thank you so much!

John was a great tour guide. He takes pride in his job and enjoys speaking about his city. He was very informative and even gave us tips and recommendations on where to go eat, etc....
I definitely recommend this tour as it helps you understand what is around the city.
Cost is reasonable for the length of the tour.

I loved our tour with Bayou City Bike Tours. I've lived in Houston for 4 years now, but I never have toured it by bike for a full day. I took 2 of my friends on this tour with me who were visiting from Dallas and Atlanta, and it was the perfect January day for a bike tour of Houston (70 degrees and beautiful sunshine). We loved our guide Zach and the picture-perfect stops he made to divulge interesting tidbits about that part of town and take a scenic photo of our group. We had the best lunch during our mid-tour stop at Market Square downtown-the best patio at Batanga. We saw some crazy giant sculptures of the presidents of the United States. This was the bayou history tour, I believe, and it was worth every penny. Loved it and will take other friends on a Bayou City Bike Tour in the future.

Do you have a tour this Sunday. If so how long and how much. Also where would I meet you - location!

We paid $40 each. Sometimes they offer deals on Groupon for as little as half that, although you may have to register with a certain minimum number of people (6 or more, maybe). I take a lot of walking and biking tours, and I thought it is was well worth it. I was thinking after that tour that I should write a letter to at least one City Councilman in Houston letting them know what great ambassadors these folks are for their City. This might be the reminder I needed to do that!

Thanks for helping us out, Heath! We just realized we hadn't responded to Candygram yet. Sorry about that!
Heath is correct, we do ride partially on streets on the Downtown History Tour the remainder (approximately 80%) is on dedicated bikeways. Our Buffalo Bayou Tour is 100% on dedicated bikeways.
We hope this answers your question and hope to see you soon!

Is there any way to bring children to the tour? My husband and I would love to join the tour but our kids are 3 and 4 yo and cannot ride bike yet.

Hi Ayumi!
I'm sorry it's been over a year since you asked your question!!!
I've never received a notification for questions on here!
I hope you live in Houston. If so, You can book one of our Buffalo Bayou Park Tours. You'll be able to get trailers for your kids to ride in attached to your bike!
Unfortunately they're only available for that specific tour.
If you're able to make it out for one, email us at info@bayoucitybiketours. com and I'll send you a promo code for a discount, since you've waited entirely too long for an answer!
