New Years Eve was a total disaster. I bought a $180 package for admission and dinner for 2. The venue was packed. We were in the middle of the line. There were not 2 seats together for my wife and myself. What an abortion. We decided to leave. Even with seats together I can't imagine eating in such close quarters. There were no refunds or exchanges btw. Shame on y'all. Houston Improv owes me $180. Beware this venue. Place seems super ghetto too.

Great comedy, but not a great time! You pay a lot of hidden fees! There’s a surcharge to buy the tickets, there’s a two item minimum order and they add an 18% service charge, which is not including the tip. The place has potential, but from the looks of past reviews, they aren’t making any progress.

My homegirl bought tickets for a birthday outing and they just gave our table away and told us it was for equipment. This ruined our plans and we paid for a premium table weeks ahead of time. Don’t make plans to come here. Still waiting on a refund for losing seats but it’s only been a few days. Will have to call bank for refund

I have frequented the your location for years. The Earthquake show on Saturday, June 3rd was the last stop for our group celebrating my youngest daughter's graduation. There would be 7 of us. I purchased the tickets over the phone, picked them up at will call and was seated along with 3 of my guest after waiting in line for about 30 minutes. Those of us who had arrived ordered and my son walked the ticket up to the front so that the remaining quest could be escorted in. Shortly thereafter a hispanic guy with a beard approaches me and says you're gonna have to scoot over because you can't just take over this whole table by yourself. I explained that there were 7 of us 3 times at a low tone and asked that he check the ticket up front. He said I needed to go get the ticket and either way the couple was sitting down. Then went on to say if I continued being so rude he would have me put out. The waiter who was waiting on us walks up and advised that there were in fact 7 of us, but the hispanic guy continues to tell the couple to sit. Then I say the hell they will because now I'm pissed. I have been disrespected and yelled at in front of my children along with everyone else. The lady who was part of the couple begins to curse me out and another one of your staff approaches me and tells me he's gonna put me out. Why? I'm sitting in my assigned sit. Why is this happening to me? I walk past to the front and the guy tells me its fine the hispanic guy has it wrong. As I walked by the other guests that were accompanying the couple made slurs as I walked by. When I return to my seat everyone is gone, but the comic Ali gets on the stage and proceeds to say how black women always acting up. He even went further to say he would put me out. The hispanic guy continuously keeps coming to our table blocking the show pretending to clear etc., but he's not our server. Management never came to apologize for the error. I called to speak to the manager Tuesday after and left a message, but no one had the decency to call me back. The irony is that the entire show there were 2 seats directly across the aisle from us that went unoccupied the entire night, but the guy chose me to single out. Why was the assumption made by your staff that me as a black woman was trying to get special seating that I was not entitled to, but the white couple that bought separate seats was given priority and respect. This woman was allowed to approach me about a table that I paid for. There is no excuse for the way my guest and I were treated even after it was clear that YOU ALL MESSED UP. Although, Earthquake put on an excellent show I couldn't help, but feel humiliated. My children didn't even eat because they were so upset at the way I was treated. The fact that mgt did nothing to make it right is madness to me. The only reason why I didn't have us all walk out is I didn't want to ruin it for the kids, but the truth is after the fact they were upset we didn't just leave. Not to long ago I was in a wheelchair and the Improv was one of the few places I could go that would accommodate me, but this experience showed a side to this place I don't like and won't return. There is no way I will pay money to be humiliated.

A good business recognize and take pride in the service they provide. However, Improv Houston seems to think their employees take precedence over the need of their customers.

I stood by the window for 15 mins waiting on two employees engaged in conversation while a third was on the phone having a personal conversation. The two employees finally walked away and the remaining person on the phone turned her back to me. So I walked away feeling unworthy of their business. I would not want anyone to be humiliated in such a way where the focus on the customer is their last order of responsibility. Stay away from this place - you will not be appreciated. There are many other comedy clubs in Houston that would deeply appreciate your business.

First time at this club. I've been going to comedy clubs for several years so I'm used to the hidden fees they charge. I'd rather just pay it all up front but I guess this method brings in more business for them. It's the price you pay to bring in talent to the area, I suppose. The club was very nice, clean, and smoke free. Yes the seating is very tight. Food and drinks are good. The service was good the night we were there. You've got to buy 2 items and they will charge you 18% on top of it. That's not a tip either...it's a service fee. You'll also pay a $10 convenience fee for your ticket. Know all the fees going into it...some did not and were not happy. We had a good time here seeing Christopher Titus.

We did enjoy the comedians, Paul Virzi, Kevin Ryan, and the host.
They all were excellent and provided many good laughs.
We knew that the food would be so-so, thus we ate before we arrived.
This was a good choice. Seating was so cramped that there would have been little to no room to eat.
We paid our general admission & then were hit with an $11.00 "convenience fee" - per ticket. Then, after paying, we see that there is a "2 item purchase minimum" per person. Drink prices weren't cheap (as expected). THEN, an 18% tip is added.
Even with the fees, at this point it was an OK evening, but then during the performance things changed.
Improv as I have always known it includes interaction with the audience. If anyone in the audience said anything to the comedian, a man came around and scolded them. We had this happen at our table and saw it happen at least 5 or 6 other times. Now that puts a damper on things! One comedian asked a lady a question and when she answered, the guy scolded her too! The offending person was told: "There is to be no communication with the performer."

Great ambiance, the food was okay. The drinks were on point. Ever time I visit I have a great time. We'll be back in August to see Aries Spears.

Once I got over having to pay $10 convenience charge for them to issue me a piece of paper at the box office for me to then show the guy at the door that piece of paper when I already had my paid confirmation on my phone. Seems like a few extra steps in place in order to charge the "convenience" fee.

Seating to really tight so get there early, but if your party doesn't fill up your table, others will be seated with you. We were lucky enough to sit in a booth facing the stage, but then some throw back couple came in late with hats on and sat at the table with us to totally block our view.

Several reviews complained about the food, but we ordered wings/fries and they were hot and pretty good. However, I did see a lot of tables with leftover nachos when we were leaving.

Went to see Corey Holcombe, he was hilarious but very politically INCORRECT, not a show for sensitive people with thin skin.
Seating is tight and tiny tables are shared. Thank goodness I'm really not a drinker because my daquari tasted like it didn't have any alcohol. Anyway, still a good night and would go back again.
