If you like classical music or want to hear classical music, go to Houston Symphony. It is a great orchestra and Jones Hall is magnificent. Best seats are balcony. Velvet seats are comfortable and it must seat at least 2000 or 2500. It was full when I went on Jan. 2017. It is worth hearing great music.

Anytime James Gaffigan is conducting is great. So charismatic so much energy don't get me wrong the orchestra is great too. The oboe horns harp just beautiful. I went twice to the same concert.

If the experience my wife and I had is any indication of the typical performance level of the Houston Symphony, this is an attraction not to be missed if you are in the Houston area during this group's season. This orchestra's riveting performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 1, in particular, was a musical experience I will long remember. I also... More

The venue is excellent for a concert. We sat on the second level, and the view was good. They decorated the building very nicely with the Christmas theme. I gave the Venue and the Symphony a 4 - Very Good. Very Merry Pops a 3 - average This was the second time we went to the Very Merry Pops. The... More

A very enjoyable evening, with world class performers. This was a first for us, and likely to become a regular Christmas tradition. The Symphony Chorus, which is staffed by volunteers (I think) was outstanding, and truly complemented the soloists. The lead trumpet shone, especially on "The Trumpet Shall Sound", which was probably the highlight of the evening. Would not recommend... More

Four of us went on the Sunday afternoon for 2:30PM in Jones Hall. It was really beautiful. The Conductor, the 2 vocalists and the Symphony were fantastic! We totally love it!

As always a wonderful evening with a variety of music all composed for piano. Fun popular songs and the classics Rhapsody in Blue... well done, Houston Symphony

The show overall was ok. We felt as though a Rolling Stones "cover band" stole the show from the Symphony players. The show would have been so much better if the camera operator would have at least caught on camera, to show on the big screens, more of the individual players besides just the singer all night or the electric... Such a wonderful feeling being taken back to my childhood watching Indiana Jones movies. I got to see the movie and a live performance of the score on my birthday!

I've heard the HSS during free concert in a park - action held last summer. It was a really good experience. They play so good. I really enjoyed bass clarinet solo. You can follow their concert on twitter to learn more about the music played during their performance
