Great Good ole Days

The Astrodome was an amazing experience back in the day. It was one of sites to see in our country before it closes

Definitely see what you can of the world-famous Houston Astrodome! It may not be around much longer....but it was the first of its kind in the world. Get your photo taken with this structure in the background. Count yourself lucky if you have had the pleasure of watching the Houston Oilers, Houston Astros, or the Mohamed Ali fight some years... Last time I was over at NRG, the Astrodome was condemned as it is starting to fall apart inside. There is a question in the city as to what to do with it. Back in the sixties and seventies, these multi-purpose, enclosed stadiums were considered quite modern and almost extraordinary. Over time, we've come to learn that they are pretty... More

It was a landmark..yes it's still there but it's lost it's soul..now NRG is a beautiful stadium but it's not the dome...many many rodeos I've seen there and drank way to many dome foams (beer) hoping one day they will turn it into a great attraction again.

Needs an update, has the classic round cement block look. Of the major stadiums in Houston this isn't the prettiest.

This dome has a special place in the hearts of all Houstonians, but it is years and years older than it should be. It's way past time to tear it down!

Really, Houston? Seriously? I'm disappointed in you. So. Very. Disappointed. Save the Astrodome! HISTORY MATTERS. It's not always about size and glamour and cutting edge modernity. Sometimes, preserving our history — and incorporating it into modern society is more important. That's the Astrodome. I saw the Astros play here when I was little. It was a BIG deal. The Astrodome... Great venue for sporting events and other fun activities. Unsure to what its future is. Given the opportunity, take a look, swing by, see what was once a very unique Houston building. I remember first seeing it in a 1970's movie called Bad News Bears.

Its been almost ten years since I've been to the Dome. I will never forget it, was so enormous. I hope it is preserved in some way shape or form for generations to come!
