They've updated, remodeled, and vastly improved. If you are down in that area you need to go. Take the kids, the grandkids, or just go by yourself. However, I wouldn't' recommend eating there, because the food is way overpriced, not all that good, and you'd be better off eating at a local restaurant.

This zoo has all you need for your visit. There is a fantastic selection of animals and the keepers are friendly and informative - very good indeed. Favourite spots were the elephants, feeding the giraffes and the gorillas!! Also has lots of designated cool spots which is a really good idea. Give the dinosaur exhibition a miss if you are... Only Fort Bend schools have the day off, which made it a perfect Friday to visit the zoo. Don't skip the giraffe feeding! Its a little pricey, but totally worth the experience for the littles.

It's been about a year since I've last been and it was exciting to see the new Gorilla Exhibit. The zoo does such a beautiful job with each area that you want to spend so much time in each area. I love that there are many employees that will interact with the animals and you answering all your questions. The... More

The Houston zoo is among one of my favorites along with San Diego Zoo. The Houston zoo is plentiful with things to do and see. There's plenty of indoor spaces and shade to cool down on a hot day. However the only recommendation I make is that you not plan a visit in the summer all the animals are sleeping... More

I took my nephews for their birthday because they really like the splash pad. Bring swimming clothes or extra clothes. They had a great time and I really wanted to see the dinosaur exhibit. I like for them to tell me everything they know about a particular animal to test their knowledge. They enjoy it and it's also a time... More

A hot deal. Summer in Houston and the zoo is very hot. They do have water mister and a little shade. It is not enough. The prices are a little on the high sides. The Hermann Park area (where the zoo is located) is great and they have all the animals you would like to see. Major Dan

After living in Houston for over five years, we finally call it "home". One of our favorite places to visit in the city is the zoo. It's clean, inviting, well planned out, ever evolving, and has an amazing collection of animals to view. There is a ton for both children and adults to see and do. Personally, I always stop... More
