So we've been to the Houston zoo many times in the 2 years we've lived in Houston. I'd say we've been about 6 times. The worst experience I've had since coming here was our last visit which was to see the zoo lights. I don't even know where to start. First off getting there is horrible. The traffic and the... It is a nice zoo, which stays in a good location. However, they still have a lot of space, that can be used for more attractive, creative things.

Something for everyone. We take our young son all the time, family membership is greatly used. Even in the hot summer there's plenty indoors and the splash pad is fun.

The Houston Zoo has gone through quite a renovation! I love that there is so much shade throughout and a Bunch of yummy snacks! Super cool that you can eat close to the girrafe exhibit and you can even purchase food to feed them! The splash pad and the carrousel! There is so much to do there that the season... More

Hi, we are newcomers to Houston and checked out the zoo. Its a bit older and some of the exhibits show it. The grounds are very nice. Huge Oak Trees and Bamboo all over. Some of the exhibits, like the Otter area, were really small as compared to some other large Zoos we have been too. The only true complain... More

The Houston Zoo is a must see. A lot of effort has been made to ensure the animals are comfortable, and their enclosures are as natural as possible. Don't forget to feed the giraffes with the lettuce they have for purchase...or save money and bring your own Roman lettuce!

Even on the hottest summer day, the Houston Zoo is a great place. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, and there are so many trees to give shade. It's a little pricey, but you can often find discounts.

If you plan to come more than once get a zoo pass they are definitely worth the price. We love everything but the parking which needs to be expanded. We come often and at different times of the day so we can catch the elephants getting washed in the early morning or the sea lion show in the later part... More
