We had visitors from Canada for the holidays. We took them to the Chase Tower but unfortunately the deck was closed which was very disappointing. The only good thing is we were able to visit the tunnels.

Why oh Why is the observation deck that we have been told so much about, not open any longer to the public?
The building is still accessible for the tunnels etc but but to go to the top and see the rest of Houston - so little to see around the area now except hard rock which we came to see as well

..very impressing building but the observation deck is really closed for public. Good thing to know if you made it there to find out in person as we did, the "Hard Rock Café" is only a few walking minutes away ;)

This Tower seems to be closed now to general public;we might have been the few last ones who visited it before closure. The view of Houston city from the top was amazing; this should have remained open!

The observation desk has been closed to the public. Search the internet for “Where are all of Houston’s Observation Decks” to read the Houston Chronicle article about it closing.

We wasted our time. Please remove this from the listing. It is closed for the public. Went there during the day time and did not even say anywhere. But when we reached there the person said it was closed to public.

Take the elevator to the highest floor and you can see the entire city of Houston. Go in the day time, closes at night. Winter decorations are beautiful. Take plenty of pictures.

The building itself is a bit long in the tooth, but the view floor is pretty cool, with views out to all directions.

At 75 stories, this is the tallest bldg. in Houston. A must see!!! The building itself is nothing spectacular, but knowing it is the tallest in Houston, tallest in Texas,16th tallest in the nation, and the tallest 5 sided bldg. in the entire world!!! is a reason you must visit it.

I travelled into the city have a look at Houston from the top but unfortunately the receptionist informed us that the tower's observation deck is closed indefinitely. The lady in question was very polite however and helped us find the nearest entrance to the Houston Tunnels.

How is parking? Do I need to take public transportation?

There are a couple of parking places that charge about $10-$15 for 2-3 hours near the tower. I usually have lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse, leave my car there (which they charge about $6 to park there) and then walk to Chase Tower. You get to look at the cool buildings, restaurants & bars on your way to the skyscraper. Hope this helps!

Is the elevator enclosed? I'm afraid of heights. We might be flying to Houston in May 2016. I'd like to go up to the lobby with my family & let them walk over to the windows, while I hang back - but am worried about glass elevator.
Thanks,
Kathy
