Nice place to checkout if u are in the Galleria mall area. My wife and I enjoyed sitting down and relaxing with noise of water. Many people here, so it expect to be crowded. The downside is that there is very very limited parking. You are better off parking at Galleria and just making the 7-10 minute walk over on a nice day

Ever wonder where your famous instagramers took their twirling video/reel in an area surrounded by water?? It is here! The infamous Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park. I can literally sit here for hours and just listen to the calming water feature. Everyone whos everyone has taken photos here! I've seen graduation pictures as of late! It's really mesmerizing and captivating. Take pictures and don't forget to run to the middle and twirl around to get a full 360 effect!

Ok, I read the reviews. Not sure what people were expecting. It is what it is called. A wall of water. A few tips - drive around the area first to see if it is turned on. Usually it is but check before parking. The street parking is very limited so park in the Galleria garage. It was free when we were there so look ahead and plan accordingly. There were quite a few traffic security people making sure no one got run over while walking to the walk which is one short block away. We stopped by on our way downtown to dinner on a week night and there were just a few people there. There are only two or three benches nearby under the trees but none real close to the water wall. The grassy area would be very nice for a picnic. This is not really a destination place but a unique stop by place for photos. If you walk into the center of the curved area and look up you’ll almost feel like you’re getting vertigo. And you’ll definitely get misted! We enjoyed the experience.

I've been living in the galleria area for about 7 years, but I finally was able to visit the famous waterwall when my cousins came to town as they wanted to check out what Houston has to offer. We went during the weekend in the afternoon, so there were quite a few people already congregated in the area. I should also mention that they came during the World Series, so there were even more people than usual.
While there is paid street parking available, I would recommend parking 2 blocks away in the parking garage for the mall. If you see signs about Macy's or Nordstrom, you'll know you're in the right place. Although my cousins enjoyed the view and took some cute photos, I really don't think this is a MUST to visit when you're in town. If you have time though, by all means!
Pro tip: If you want to take photos with no one around during peak hours, try taking them on the sides than in the front. Another thing is to watch where you step; some dog owners aren't so responsible, so there might be some nasty findings left behind on the lawn.

I just got to do a drive by and let my mom out to hurridly take photos. No free parking around. There is a garage nearby that charged $5 for up to 2 hours. They need street parking for those want to spend 30 minutes or less there. Security guard driving around so people wouldn't park on the street.

First night in Houston. Visited after we had a nice dinner. This is a nice gem in the Galleria area. We parked at the Galleria mall. A woman was singing and a man was playing the saxophone. They both sounded well together and took requests. I’m assuming you could picnic in the area. Great opportunity for photos.

Was really looking forward to experiencing this since so many travel blogs highly recommended it. Unfortunately during our visit in early April, the waterfall was completely turned off, and the entrance to the surrounding building was even blocked off by gates. Clearly I should have checked on the website prior to wasting a long time in busy traffic to get to the park, I didn't realize that the waterfall is closed for several weeks at a time for cleaning and refurbishment. My advice: Learn from our mistake and check the website prior to going.

Must visit when traveling to Houston and staying near Galleria area. Very beautiful and mesmerizing. Great for a photo op. You do have to pay for parking in the nearby garage which is a short walk away but parking is easy inside there.

I really debated between and 3 and a 4. I was disappointed that the only parking we could find was the $3 for 15 minute parking. The area was super busy (we were there on a Friday evening) and we didn't want to drive in circles looking for the supposedly free Galleria parking.
The area right in front of the feature was extremely muddy due to the spray coming off of the wall. I'm glad we went and walking all the way around the back of the wall was worth it as well. There were several people doing photo shoots with lighting and all, so it was hard to get photos without people or equipment in the photos.
One other warning, use Waze or something that keeps up to date with construction changes with your GPS because we ended up being forced onto a freeway when the way we wanted to go was closed. Luckily, we didn't have to be anywhere, so we took it as an excuse to explore another area.

We happened to be staying three blocks from the water wall, I visited it on four occasions. I have seen the fountains of Versailles and Yosemite Falls, in its own way this water wall is equally spectacular. The setting is lovely, a creative and striking example of urban architecture and design. You should walk around the wall and check it out from different angles. You can combine a visit with shopping at nearby places, which will give you free parking.
