Walkers and runners can be found on the trail at most times of day. Watch out for roots across the trail.
I can be found happily walking/trotting around Rice several times weekly.

Such a beautiful area and running trail, it’s shaded and gravel! We come running here all the time with family and friends

It's not that great..... The trails are thin.... And it's not that big of a track..... And the trees give shade but there is too much drive by traffic for me.... Memorial park is much better

A wonderful place to run if you are in the area. The afternoon/ dusk time of day is a bit crowded. Otherwise I'd give it a 5. You can park on the west side of the campus. There is a lot that is cheaper than the center of campus.

I'm the proud parent of a Rice graduate. Rice Univ. is a beautiful campus with its ancient moss covered oak trees.

Every time I come to Houston I stay at the hotels in the medical center and love to run the path around Rice University. It's a great run with trees around most of the trail. It's well worth the run.

This trail has a lot of stops, starts due to the fact that it wraps around the parking lot of the University. It also sides to some major roads (Rice Blvd, University Blvd) so there are car fumes to deal with - along with noise. Otherwise, I'd give a higher rating. I enjoy watching the people here more than I like being one of them. I prefer Memorial Park or Herman Park, but if you are in the area, give it a try!

The path surrounding the hedges that envelope Rice University is a great place to have a measured run. It is right at 3 miles, it's flat, and fellow path users are polite and (for the most part) follow the rules of the road. You get a peek inside the beautiful Rice campus, see the grandeur of the homes across Rice Street and Sunset Boulevard, have the grassy vista towards Hermann Park, and get a bit of a flavor of how busy the medical district is. It's not something you'll find in the central part of many large metropolitan areas. We visit every time we're in Houston.
