My husband and I went to a show at the Alley. It's a mid-size theater and the seats are all arranged in a half circle so that as far as I could see, no matter where you sit, you have an excellent view! Close to some restaurants so it's easy to get dinner before the show. Parking in the same... More

This theatre is a top choice in the World . If you are in town, look for current plays. They have many diverse offerings thru out the year, summer mysteries often run too. Christmas Holidays roll out The Christmas Carol, this is a fine production to introduce kids to live theatre and make it a special family event. (Book in... More

With The Nether, The Alley Theatre staged the most thought-provoking play I have seen in Houston. You could hear the audience's intake of breath when they figured out who Iris was.... It's been years since I left the theatre and could not stop thinking about, talking about, and discussing a play. The Alley's company is top notch and I highly... More

Around the World in 80 Days was very enjoyable. Watching the actors play several different characters, including foreign voice changes, was intriguing and quite funny. This performance kept us smiling or laughing the entire show. There is a quick 15 minute intermission and advised to pre-order a snack/drink. You are allowed to bring water bottle in with you. Looking forward... More

The Alley Theatre and it's troupe is a Houston institution. It was the recipient of a special Tony award in recognition for outstanding regional theatre thanks to the leadership of Gregory Boyd who has elevated the standing of the theater to one of nationally recognized status. Some of the Alley's productions have ended up on Broadway and on theaters in... More

This was my first full production at the Alley Theatre. It was professional, really on a par with plays I've seen over the years at great theaters and on Broadway. The acting was top notch even with an understudy in the role, and the production itself was creative and compelling without drawing attention to itself. The Alley is my new... More

We had an extra day in Houston after getting off a cruise ship so we got tickets to see "Around the World in 80 Days." Outstanding performance! 5 actors played 56 different roles. They changed from one to another quickly which required them to change voice quickly. The were always spot on! The Alley Theater has recently been renovated and... More

We saw “All the Way” as part of our season tickets. It was a great show. For out of town visitors-- see if you can get tickets for a play before your trip. All the seats are good. The sound and seat upgrades are excellent. The remodeling has added additional restrooms that greatly lowers the intermission rush. Note: you can... More

This was our first visit since the renovations last fall. Great work. Much more comfortable and the new stage comes right into the audience. "All the Way" was a great performance. It seemed so contemporary in many ways even though it portrays 1963. Parking is extremely convenient and completely protected from the weather since it is connected by either the... More

We had second row seats for "A Christmas Carol." We had of course seen "A Christmas Carol" in many different forms, but this was the first at The Alley Theatre. Decent priced and fairly close parking. Nice lobby with a very attractive Christmas tree. The performance itself was superior. A few twists from other performances keep things interesting. We were...
