Situated right in the middle of the Houston theatre district the Alley is not just a theatre - it is a renowned theatre company, a theatrical hot house that grows wonderful theatre. I remember attending great performance in the 70s. The theatre has recently been renovated and it is beautiful. Your get your arts worth at the Alley.

After enjoying Janis Joplin tribute performance, I welcomed the offer to purchase 5 shows for a discounted price. I purchased 2 sets so I can take guests. I have since enjoyed A Midsummer Night's Dream and have 4 more events upcoming. Parking was convenient.

I saw my second show last night at the Alley Theater in downtown Houston...Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. It is an amazing venue with a smaller, more intimate, atmosphere than the Hobby Center (I Love Hobby Center too). I always try and try to be sure I have great seats when buying tickets, and both times I did really well.... More

Went to see A Christmas Carol. This was a great production with excellent actors and special effects. The theater itself is magnificent after latest redo. I don't know what the problem was but it very hard to understand actors speaking while we sat in row N. We were able to move up a few rows and it was a little... More

Went here for the play Christmas Carole The theater is very pretty inside, and the seating well laid out. Do not think there is a bad seat in the house. We had seats closer to the back, but we could see and hear very well. The only problem I could see is the rows closer to the stage may not... More

I haven't been here in a while. so it was a treat to see Midsummer Night's Dream in a wonderful remodeled setting. This place never gets old. We took a chance buying discount seats in the first row, which will now be my preferred spot. Up close with no obstructed sight lines, we could see clearly all the expressions on... More

The Alley Theatre was recently totally remodeled and refurbished, improving the facility for both the patrons and the performers. The resident company has very talented actors and actresses that we look forward to seeing in various roles. Visiting performers are always very high quality. In addition the sets and costumes immediately take the audience onto the play. One can see... More

Attended a performance of A Midsummer's Night Dream at the Alley Theatre last night. The venue, including the wonderful new renovations, is outstanding. The staging and acoustics are terrific--so easy to see and hear actors/actresses. The play was creative and delightful. It has a modern costume twist to Shakespearean dialogue that makes it fun and easy to follow. I highly... More

Don't hesitate to purchase tickets on the side areas of this Hubbard theatre at the Alley. We went to see "A Night with Janis Joplin" last night and not only was it an amazing show but the seats were perfect! Comfortable and easy to move around. We purchased our tickets a day or so prior to the show and they... More

Saw a great show. Theater is conducive to smaller intimate performances. A nice feature is that you can pre-order drinks and snacks to have waiting for you at intermission.
