    Not the best
There are very few hotels in walking distance that offered the conference rate for government. Thus, attendees are forced to scatter throughout the city. Also bringing in food trucks helps with lunch, but standing in 100+ degree heat with no shade or misters was not an option. We always went elsewhere

    Impressed by the Scope
We drove around this area and I was impressed with the size and scope of the big convention center. There are hotels nearby. We did not go inside, but I suppose it has the usual features of a big city convention center. Can accommodate lots of people.

Great experience attending Collect A Con
Was here to attend Collect-A-Con, great experience. Very sweet security who did their job professionally and kindly. Very clean, air-conditioned, easy enough to navigate the floor I was on. I did hear the ATMs broke at one point, but if that isn't every convention I've ever been to.

The George R Brown Convention Center in Houston. A massive building that looks like a huge ship. Downtown location is perfect with several hotels, restaurants, a great activities center. Overall a great place for any thing.

This facility is very nice, but it is also very large with long distances between each of their Halls that host the events.
I have a disability that limits my walking.
When I asked one of the staff if i could enter a door that was clearly closer to my event, he told me that since i had a disability, i should have stayed home!
I was shocked by this remark!
I was there to support my daughter and her volleyball tournament, and they tell me this?
They could easily have golf carts to transport the disabled from the parking lot elevator to the various Halls, but they just don’t give a damn!
I’m very disappointed in Houston, which has been my home for 62 years, for allowing this!

I don't know anything about George R Brown or why he has a convention center named for him. I did enjoy the exterior decor of the building.

Inside, it's a convention center. There is a Starbucks inside which made my day, and it has a skywalk to the hotel across the street.

I thought it was very clean for a convention center, the floors clean, etc. I also thought it was very cold inside, but it was summer in Texas and maybe that is how they roll.

Enjoyed my time there.

The rooms are quite spacious and the convention center staff, overall, were super helpful in finding rooms. The numbering system for event spaces is a little odd at first, but once you figure it out, its super easy to get where you need to go. Vending machine prices for soft drinks weren't out of the norm, and the information booth in the convention center for the tourist board was super helpful and friendly.

Attended the Houston Franchise Expo during the weekend and very much enjoyed this convention center. It's huge, but once you know which hall to go to it's easy to get around. Also some food services available at Saltgrass steakhouse is on the ground floor.

The space, location, and temperature were great! There were not enough bathrooms located in a decent walk from our conference.

We usually go here every Thanksgiving weekend to see the big car show in town. The place is huge, by the time You walk around this place you have gotten yourself a good workout. The location is ideal, you can leave there and go straight to Pappadeaux's Seafood restaurant or Pappasitos at the Hotel Americas. I can't imagine any event being too big for this place to handle.

Visited the International Quilt Exhibition which was awesome. The number of exhibits and stalls was mind-boggling. Access was easy and the facility had many washrooms/toilets for the large crowd that visited the exhibition.

Downtown Houston’s place for large gatherings, George R. Brown Convention Center is event central for conventions and other large shows. Conveniently located close to the Toyota Center and several hotels, George R. Brown gets a regular workout and hosts events every month throughout the year.

I’ve visited George R. Brown Convention Center several times over the years for different events and I have been satisfied with my experiences. The main level houses the large convention center space and it’s big enough to handle most any type of event. Take the escalators or elevators to the second floor or third floor and you will find meeting spaces for conferences plus individual rooms that can be used as office space.

As for finding your way around, George R. Brown Convention Center is a little easier than others I have visited in other cities. There is one long hallway on the front side of the building, on each floor, so it’s fairly simple to get from place to place and find your room. The only section that’s a little more challenging is the third floor, in the meeting room section. You may find yourself walking in circles to find your destination room, but it’s still not that bad, at least not compared to other convention centers.

Discovery Green Park is situated in the front of George R. Brown Convention Center, adding some natural scenery to the building. The adjacent Hilton Hotel has walkways on the second and third floor that take you directly to the Center, so this is definitely the hotel in which to stay if you want the most convenience possible. It’s a nice, large convention center that, along with other nearby buildings, is getting an upgrade in 2016 as part of a Houston Convention Center expansion that will include more hotels. It will likely emerge even bigger and better, but until that time, George R. Brown is still a nice place to attend a convention or other large event.
