I had been told that this museum is "small." Well, that is true, but it has so much to offer. For one, it is right by the Museum of Fine Arts, right across the street. It also has a very interesting collection considering the limited...More

Lots of modern art and installations. It’s free!!! Lots of other museums close by as well. Make a day of it and enjoy all of them.

We were in Houston for FotoFest, and an exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Museum was included. The space is interesting, vertically vast on the ground floor, and not always conducive for exhibiting traditional, framed works. They have some great shows, though!

Always free and well done. Small and intimate with great exhibits. This is truely my favorite museum in Houston. Easy to access and with a great gift shop.. make the time to see the work, usually two exhibits on two floors.

Max time here 30-45 minutes. Latest contemporary art, the stuff you may not understand or ask is this art? You never know what will be here. Free, donation optional. Worth a trip if you are already parked and close by and in the mood for...More

Didn't expect the museum to be as good as it was. Nice selection of art for viewing. Some obscure artists as well as more well known artists available.

The building is unique itself to see from the outside. The upstairs gallery was the only part open but it was a beautiful exhibit to see by the artist Annabeth Rosen. The gallery is well kept & monitored. Pictures are allowed in side, just no...More

The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston was my favourite place we visited on our 'cultural' day out in Houston. The Paul Ramírez Jonas exhibition was so interesting and commentary surrounding each of the pieces was perfect - it really made me think. Cannot believe that all...More

Museum is just across the street from the Fine Arts Museum and worth a quick visit. Only the basement level was open due to preparation for a new show but the downstairs was worth a quick visit.
