Art Ramble was a great experience. We were able to make it to 3 of the 5 buildings. The drink vendors were a nice touch, but visiting the artists in their studios and looking at all the art exhibits were our favorite. Can't believe this is all free every month.

Sawyer yards is the largest artist community in the USA. It is a five building campus with three hundred and fifty artist studios with over four hundred artists. Open studio day is the second Saturday of every month from 12:00 till 5:00. There are two breweries on either side of the main yard. Come on down, have a beer and stroll through the open studios. You cannot see it all in one day.

Attended an exhibition opening at Spring Street Studio on the Sawyer Yards Campus. This was a great place to view fine art, and visit with the artists in person. There was no admission charge. There are 2 floors of art to view here and in several other buildings which are part of the same community of artists.

This is a great way to see and meet talented artists. I always make an effort to visit the second Saturday of the month. The galleries are open and the flee market is excellent. It doesn't cost anything to visit the studios/galleries. There is a $5 charge to get into the indoor market but there are other venders outside which is free.

A great place to explore local talented artists, see their work, and meet them. A very welcoming environment,a favorite place for those like myself who love art with a personal touch.. I met with Toria Hill, whose work, and expression is based on current events.. completely blown away by her talent. I proudly own some of her work and cherish it completely..

You'll find art of every style, in every medium, to fit every budget at this large campus of artist studios. The artists are welcoming and happy to talk about their work (but not pushy!). Stop by on the second Saturday of the month, when everyone's open. Very walkable (Winter Street Studios is especially nice!), with several options for food nearby. Don't miss this!

This is a trendy place with places to eat and drink and 5 separate buildings of local artist working, showing and selling art right out of their studios. It was pretty cool to walk through and see all the artist. There was also several art shows going on in the gallery parts too. Wear comfortable shoes and spend the day walking around and talking to the artist. Second Saturday seems to be the day they are all open. Oh and it's inside too with air conditioning! A plus for Texas.

Love this area and what they’ve turned it into. It’s so interesting to walk through these huge buildings and see every kind of art you can imagine. And I so appreciate that many of the artists welcome you into their studios while they’re creating. A diverse group of artists for sure, all in an inviting setting that you can’t wait to explore.

The Sawyer yards is a wonderful artist studio development in the area of the old rice silos. There is excellent graffiti style wall art. Nearby is a nice little brewery and the new and interesting Poitin restaurant along with some other establishments. The are views of the downtown skyline. It is a nice place to checkout for locals and visitors alike.

Is Sawyer Yards dog friendly? Can I bring my dog?
Written October 10, 2020
Because there is art on display - Only service Dogs are allowed inside the buildings. However, During Second Saturdays there are art vendors outside in Tents as well and dogs ARE allowed there. We also have Buff Brew which is a beer brewery with Food that has an outside Dog area. You can drink and eat with your pooch! Many people with dogs go there, and take turns coming inside the buildings.
