Obviously this is not a jogging path, but there was no other fitness category, so it seemed like something that would appeal most to fitness types. Side note for you runners/walkers staying in the Northwest/ Memorial/ Dairy Ashford Area: the Hershey trail by the bayou is a great place to run or walk! Back to yoga: at Lululemon the previous day, I asked for a good power vinyasa studio and the clerk raved about Big Power Yoga. They have at least two locations and I went to the one on Wirt Road near I-10. It was great! Everyone was welcoming and the emphasis was more on the workout than anything spiritual (full disclosure: I am a Christian who really appreciates the yoga workout, so I would prefer to not have religious symbols in the studio). I mostly just practice power vinyasa at what I believe to be fairly rigorous studios. The instructor I had was one of the fastest-moving power vinyasa instructors I have practiced with. She was also fun and gracious. She explained the handstand-prep better than I have ever heard it explained, and when I was getting close to holding a handstand her way, she was suddenly right there to catch my legs. They have fully-supplied locker rooms and a nicely curated selection of yoga wear for men and women (that came in handy as my group decided to go straight to brunch and I was very sweaty after class).
