Way more hyped up than it's worth. The shops and restaurants are not notable and the whole experience was just walking without finding anything interesting. On the upside it was an ok way to kill time waiting for traffic to die down and walk off...More

My friend told me about this place so we decided to check it out when we were in town. They had plenty of places to eat, nothing fancy, but good never the less. Other than that, nothing stands out as overwhelming. Just a quirky place...More

It's an interesting underground place with lots of restaurants. During lunch time it could be very crowded. If you want to escape the summer heat for an hour or so you can walk through the tunnels and enjoy a lunch in one of the many...More

I read the reviews here and had guests visiting from out of state and though this might be something fun to do to get away from the sufferable heat outside. We spent a little over an hour down in the tunnels and I didn't see...More

I used to work in downtown Houston and used the tunnel system on a regular basis. Was great for grabbing a sandwich without going out in the Houston heat or taking a power walk at lunch - but you have to be familiar with how...More

The tunnels are kind of a fun way to travel downtown. Especially with the heat and all the road construction. If you are a tourist, it's an adventure to see where you are going to end up!

There are lots of restaurants in the Tunnel and stores. They have just about everything and run about 2 miles underground. This is good for walking for lunch instead of walking outside so that you do not get wet.

Open in various parts since at least the 1960's, free tunnels between Texas Medical Center hospitals, care centers, hotels, etc. are well marked, easy to navigate, climate controlled and have alarms to alert and submarine doors to close during impending hurricanes and floods (I have...More

I drove my husband to work in our car, 1/2 mile in the morning, so in the heat and humidity he would not be sweating going to meetings. We've a herding dog mix (shelter from Texas) and she took the trip once so it was...More

I've read a few reviews that criticize the tunnels because "there were no guides" or "after work hours it's a wasteland." What is amazing about the Houston Downtown Tunnel System is it's incredible function and usage for those who work downtown. It's not meant to...More
