We visited Paradine Estate Winery as part of a Total Indulgence Wine Tour with Pterodactyl Helicopters.
This was our first stop for the day and Paul was a great host

We visited the Paradine Winery yesterday. We enjoyed the wine tasting and the chutneys. Some nice chocolate bits and some interesting presents to buy.
We were made very welcome. The views are wonderful to the mountains.

We were on a coach tour which took in a stop at this winery. The cellar was in a small but pleasant cabin with a verandah which had sweeping views across to Mt Walker and to the Teviot Range. Inside we had tastings of the wines that they produced there from a fairly new small vineyard that is found in the village of Harrisville up on a hill. We also had tastings of chutneys and chocolate rocks which is part of their supplies of chocolates made in Brisbane. Be aware of the naughty ones! Those that did not drink wine had a cup of coffee and we all browsed around the interesting gifts that could be bought with some coming away with some and wine, chocolates and port. The ambience is a drawcard as the cottage has that old Aussie cabin look with the rusted tin roof and a wine barrel props up a table. It is possible to buy an antipasta plate and sit on the verandah, taking in the fresh air and unwinding from the rush of Brisbane City. The tastings were free. It was very hard to pull the group away!

My wife and I had the pleasure of making a detour and finding a gem of a boutique winery in Harrisville. This small independent winery, has a great selection of reds, and a pretty good port. The shop is an eclectic mixture of local arts and crafts, imported olives, cheeses and oils, and of course the wine. Taste away, encourage by the resident horticulturalist, not only does he espouse on the wonderful quality of the wine, but he also makes an incredibly mean pizza. Well worth a visit when you are in this part of South East Queensland, great to be able to support a local business.

Visited with my partner and his family on a drive through the area.
Lovely little cellar with chocolates and little gifts to buy.
Paul the man who runs the Cellar door was great, he was very knowledgable about all the wines we tasted and spend lots of time explaining the different varieties.
As well as the free wine tasting Paul and his amazing handlebar Mustache make this stop very worthwhile!

very friendly and knowledgeable individual running the place. Most places are real good, this is just the top tier. Wine is good too. Do stop in for a chat, and they can answer all your questions while you have some tastes to decide what you like best!
